Huawei GT6, GT6 Pro smartwatches launch in India with upgraded battery and outdoor capabilities

Both the Huawei Watch GT6 and GT6 Pro feature improved heart rate accuracy, GPS precision, and wrist-based cycling power tracking to help users get more data from their training sessions, rather than just basic step counts or calorie tracking. Huawei claims the GT6 series watches can last up to 21 days on one charge, making them stand out in the smartwatches space in India.

The GT6 Pro is the more feature-rich model and looks built for outdoors. There’s an aerospace-grade titanium frame, sapphire glass and an AMOLED display that can go up to 3,000 nits brightness, so visibility under harsh sunlight shouldn’t be an issue. For context, most premium smartwatches max out at 3,000 nits brightness, making the Huawei watches one of the brightest available. Huawei has also added a Sunflower GPS system for better accuracy during trail runs, hikes, and long cycling routes. The GT6 Pro also has more than 100 sports modes, improved sleep recovery insights, and 5ATM water resistance.

The regular GT6 has similar features but in a lighter, more casual design. It has the same bright AMOLED display, advanced fitness tracking, and the same three-week battery life. Users who want not only precise training data but also something stylish enough for daily wear could go for the standard GT6.

The Huawei GT6 and Huawei GT6 Pro are available on Flipkart and the RTC India official website. The Watch GT6 (46mm) is priced at Rs 21,999 for the Green, Grey, and Black variants. The Huawei Watch GT6 (41mm) costs Rs 21,999 for the Black, White, Purple, and Brown variants, while the Gold 41mm variant is priced at Rs 24,999. Meanwhile, the Huawei GT6 Pro 46mm will be available at Rs 28,999 for the Black and Brown variants, and Rs 39,999 for the Titanium variant.

This pricing puts the Huawei siblings in the category of Samsung’s Galaxy watches, Garmin’s Forerunner series and rugged smartwatches from Amazfit. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra has an advantage because of its safety features, dual-band GPS, and ecosystem integration, but its battery life of 60 hours doesn’t come close to Huawei’s. The Galaxy Watch Series 8 also is feature-rich with payments and multiple apps support, but has limited endurance. For those who want a smartwatch to behave like an extension of a smartphone, watches from mainstream players like Samsung will have the advantage. For long hikes and multi-day trips, Huawei could feel like the stronger choice.

Competitors like the Amazfit Falcon and T-Rex Ultra, which also target athletes, feature rugged bodies and long battery life. They target the same demographic as Huawei, but the GT6 Pro could feel more polished and premium-feeling in design. Additionally, its wrist-based cycling power metrics may attract users who want pro-level data without buying external sensors.

For buyers trying to decide what to pick, it depends on their priorities. The GT6 lineup has features a serious runner, cyclist or mountain trainer will appreciate. People who prefer apps, phone integration, payments and convenience inside the Android ecosystem will still lean toward Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra or Series 8.
