Huawei’s upcoming smartphone sub-brand appears to be taking shape, with new leaks revealing its English name and the first two phones in its lineup. Previously referred to as Xingmang, loosely translated as Starlight or Starburst, the brand will reportedly launch as Osta. Its first products are said to be the Osta O1 and O1 Pro, both said to be in the flagship segment rather than the mid-range category suggested by earlier reports.
IT Home reports citing tipster Digital Chat Station that the brand will be called Osta. The tipster shared a partial image of the O1 Pro’s retail box, showing the packaging carrying the Osta branding and identifying a 16GB RAM and 1TB storage configuration. Huawei hasn’t officially confirmed the new sub-brand, with the company directing queries about the reports to its official announcements.
Osta O1 series specifications
The Osta O1 Pro is expected to be the more distinctive of the two phones. It’s tipped to feature a 6.39-inch flat LTPS display with 1.5K resolution and a 16:9.5 aspect ratio. This is considerably wider than the 19.5:9 or 20:9 screens common on smartphones today. The display is also said to have narrow bezels measuring around 1.05 mm on all four sides, while the rear could feature a horizontal camera strip.
The reported screen proportions are similar to those on Huawei’s Pura X View, which went on sale in China in September. Huawei therefore introduced this wide-screen format on its mainline range before OPPO’s reported plans for a similar non-folding phone. Xiaomi is also exploring wider-screen designs, including its recent wide foldable and also a non-folding model. The Osta model would give Huawei another way to build on the format without making it exclusive to its flagship lineup.
The O1 Pro is reportedly planned in four configurations: 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB. Its hardware and pricing are said to be comparable to Huawei’s flagship phones. Some leaks have also pointed to a Kirin 9-series processor, possibly the Kirin 9025, and HarmonyOS 7, but neither detail is confirmed. The reported colour options include Starry Sky Black, Nebula White and Starlight Purple.

The standard Osta O1 is tipped to feature a display curved on all four sides and a large circular camera module on the back. This would give it a more conventional premium-phone design compared with the O1 Pro’s wider, flat screen. Details such as its display size, chipset, cameras and battery remain unknown.
If the leaks are true, Osta may not necessarily be a more affordable alternative to Huawei’s flagship phones. Buyers will need to see how its pricing, software support and camera hardware compare with the main Huawei range before judging its value.
