Lava Bold 2 5G teased on Amazon, India launch set for March 13th
Lava has begun teasing the Lava Bold 2 5G, the successor to last year’s Lava Bold 5G, ahead of its launch in India. The company has confirmed that the new phone will be unveiled on March 13th at 12 noon, and it will be available for purchase through Amazon, where a dedicated microsite has already gone live.
The teaser page gives an early look at the phone’s design. The Lava Bold 2 5G appears to feature a dual rear camera setup, with two sensors placed in separate circular cutouts within a rectangular camera module. An LED flash sits alongside the cameras. The phone also appears to use a flat frame and flat rear panel, with the power button and volume keys on the right side.

Lava is promoting the device with the tagline “Brighter, Slimmer, Bolder.” While the company has not shared the full specifications yet, the messaging hints at design and display improvements over the previous model. The teaser also suggests the phone will have a slimmer body. For context, the original Lava Bold measured 8.5 mm thick, so its successor could end up slightly thinner.
The Lava Bold 5G launched in India in April 2025 starting at Rs 10,499 for the 4GB + 128GB variant. The phone packed a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a feature that is still uncommon at that price. It was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with up to 6GB RAM, and included a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. It also featured a 64MP main camera with a Sony sensor, a 16MP front camera, and IP64-rated dust and splash resistance. If Lava follows a similar strategy this year, the Bold 2 5G could again deliver a strong display and balanced hardware while keeping the price accessible.
The budget Rs 10,000 – Rs 12,000 segment in India remains highly competitive. Phones such as Redmi 15C, and POCO’s C-series compete in this bracket with large batteries, smooth displays, and 5G connectivity. Lava has been positioning the Bold series as a locally developed alternative that aims to match those features while maintaining aggressive pricing. For buyers looking at affordable 5G phones, the Bold 2 may be worth watching if it continues offering features such as a high-refresh-rate display and fast charging at a competitive price. If Lava manages to keep the pricing close to the previous generation, the phone could end up competing directly with entry-level 5G devices from Redmi, Realme, and POCO.
