Lava is all set to introduce a new lineup called ‘Virat’ in the Indian smartphone market soon. Likely aimed at the budget and midrange segment, the series will aim to deliver robust day-to-day performance, long-lasting reliability, a clean software experience, and a premium design. Today, the company has officially revealed the first offerings under this series, the Lava Virat V1 5G and Virat V1, along with their key specifications.

Here’s when the Lava Virat series is debuting
The Lava Virat V1 5G and Virat V1 will make their official debut in India on July 24th and will be sold exclusively online via Flipkart. This marks a notable shift for Lava, which has long partnered with Amazon for e-commerce sales for its previous smartphone launches.
Without going into the pricing details, here’s what Lava has announced today regarding the new lineup:
Lava Virat V1 5G and Virat V1 specifications revealed
Lava Virat V1 5G
The Lava Virat V1 5G is set to feature a 6.75-inch HD+ display, likely an LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Running at the core of the device will be the Unisoc T8200 processor, the same chipset that powers tons of new releases this year, such as Lava’s own Shark 2 5G, Ai+ Nova 2, and HMD Vibe 2. The chipset should suffice for casual to medium use cases, such as chatting, checking emails, browsing social media, etc.

The official design renders of the Virat V1 5G confirm that the back panel will feature box-like patterns on the rear, while being equipped with a square-ish camera module. The smartphone gets an IP64 rating and will be available in two colourways, Arya Blue and Sonar Gold.
If competitively priced, the Virat V1 5G could stand as a great alternative to the 5G offerings under the Rs 20,000 such as the Realme C83, Moto G37 Power, and OPPO K14x, given it carries the advantage of flaunting a clean and bloatware-free software.
Lava Virat V1
As the name doesn’t include the 5G moniker, the Virat V1 is likely to be a 4G-only offering. Per Lava, the phone will flaunt a 6.75-inch HD+ panel, which should be paired with high refresh rates, just like the Virat V1 5G. It’ll boast a 5,000mAh battery, while the build will be protected using an IP64 rating for shielding against dust and water.

From the official design renders, it appears the Virat V1 will sport a more subtle design compared to the Virat V1, with a plain back panel devoid of any patterns or intricate design elements.
Just like the commitments made on previous models, the Lava Virat series will be backed by the company’s free home service for a hassle-free after-sales experience in the comfort of the customer’s home.
