After catering to the above-Rs 25,000 market by releasing several smartphones under the ‘Edge 70’ branding, Motorola has now something to offer in the budget segment in the form of Moto G37 Power. The smartphone rocks the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, a common sighting in this range, a durable build, and a 120Hz refresh rate display.

Here’s what Moto G37 Power offers
The Moto G37 Power justifies its name by rocking a bigger 7,000mAh battery with 30W TurboPower charging. Rivalling phones like the Realme C83 also offer a 7,000mAh battery, while the OPPO K14x gets a tad smaller 6,500mAh cell.
On to the other aspects, the G37 Power flaunts a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, which is assisted by Dolby Atmos-supported stereo speakers for an immersive sound experience. Motorola is specifically highlighting the phone’s punch-hole display since others like the Realme C83 and Redmi A7 Pro 5G continue to utilise the dated dew-drop notch to house the selfie camera.
The display can reach up to 1,050 nits in high brightness, while supporting ‘smart water touch’ for uninterrupted operations even with wet fingers. The display is protected using Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, while the entire body is IP64 and MIL-STD 810H certified for safeguarding against accidental drops and bumps. Moving on, the Dimensity 6400 should offer a similar level of performance as others with the same chipset.
As noted in our Realme C83 review, which runs on the Dimensity 6300, a slightly stripped-down version of Dimensity 6400, the Moto G37 series should offer snappy interactions for basic use. The chipset should also be able to handle light games like Subway Surfers and Clash of Clans with ease. The chipset also lends the phones 5G capabilities.
On the optics front, the phone features a 50MP primary camera and a 2-in-1 light sensor on the rear, while the front gets an 8MP selfie camera. To enhance the capturing experience, Motorola has packed features like Shot Optimisation and Auto Smile Capture to help users in clicking ideal pictures of the scene.
The G37 Power runs on Android 16 out of the box with an assured upgrade to Android 17 sometime later, along with three years of security patch updates. Phones like the Redmi A7 Pro 5G come with a promise of four OS upgrades, significantly higher than the Moto G37 Power. On the positive side, the software gains several niceties often found on higher-priced phones, such as Smart Connect for running phone apps on your PC.
Given the specifications and features on offer, the Moto G37 Power could turn out to be a suitable grab for those seeking a large battery, a stock-like Android software experience, and a tough build on a budget.
