The Motorola Edge series is getting a new model in India, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+. The upcoming handset will sit at the top of the Edge 70 lineup, above the Edge 70 Pro. Ahead of its official debut, Motorola has updated the phone’s India microsite with fresh details about the camera system, colour variants, and design. The company appears to be positioning the Edge 70 Pro+ as a more camera-focused and feature-rich alternative to the recently launched Edge 70 Pro.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ camera details

Motorola has confirmed that the Edge 70 Pro+ will feature a triple rear camera setup led by a 50MP Sony LYT-710 primary sensor with support for 3.5-degree optical image stabilisation (OIS). The company is also teasing up to 50x digital zoom backed by its “Super Zoom Pro” imaging feature. More importantly, one of the rear cameras is a 50MP periscope lens with 3.5x optical zoom.

That could end up being one of the biggest differences between the Edge 70 Pro and the Pro+ variant. The Edge 70 Pro lacks a dedicated telephoto camera, which the Pro+ model could offer as one of the upgrades. This would mean an advantage in zoom photography, like capturing distant wildlife without losing detail and more natural-looking bokeh and details for portraits.

Design-wise, the Edge 70 Pro+ appears nearly identical to the standard Pro model. It features a square-shaped rear camera island, curved display edges, a centred punch-hole selfie camera, and Motorola branding placed centrally on the back panel. The phone is confirmed to launch in three Pantone-curated finishes: Pantone Chicory Coffee with a sculpted wood finish, Pantone Stormy Sea with a twill-inspired texture, and Pantone Zinfandel with a satin-luxe finish.

The phone also includes an additional button on the left side, though Motorola has not yet revealed its function. It could potentially be tied to AI shortcuts or custom actions, following trends seen in recent premium Android phones.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ appears aimed at buyers who want a more premium offering than the Edge 70 Pro. It would also compete with rivals like the Realme 16 Pro+. It could also be a good option for those who want a premium mid-range phone without stepping into the flagship pricing category. For now, the Edge 70 Pro+ could be a notable upgrade over the Edge 70 Pro, but it’s still advisable to wait for reviews before making a buying decision.
