Motorola’s Moto Watch launching in India on January 23rd with focus on fitness and battery life
Motorola has confirmed that the Moto Watch will launch in India on January 23rd at 12 noon IST, alongside the company’s new sub-flagship Motorola Signature smartphone. The announcement comes via a Flipkart microsite, which also reveals most of the watch’s key specifications ahead of the launch. The Moto Watch was first shown globally at CES 2026, and its arrival in India points to Motorola getting serious about smartwatches again.
This is Motorola’s most focused wearable push since the Moto 360 lineup was discontinued in 2019. It has quietly launched watches like moto Watch 70 and Watch 120 but they aren’t manufactured by the company. Unlike its older Wear OS-based watches, the Moto Watch does not run Google’s smartwatch platform. Motorola has instead gone with its own software, limited to Android phones.That puts it closer to brands like Amazfit, and away from direct competition with Samsung’s Galaxy Watch or Google’s Pixel Watch. However, the watch is compatible with Smart Connect as part of the larger Moto Things ecosystem.

On the hardware side, the Moto Watch comes with an aluminium body protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which Motorola claims is a segment-first pairing. It features a 1.4-inch circular OLED display and supports 26 watch faces. The watch is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance and also carries a 1 ATM rating, making it suitable for everyday use and occasional water exposure.
Battery life is one of the Moto Watch’s biggest talking points. Motorola claims up to seven days of usage with the always-on display turned on, with 13 days in raise-to-wake mode. That is well ahead of most Wear OS smartwatches, which usually need charging every one to two days. Fast charging is also supported, with Motorola claiming around a day’s worth of battery from a five-minute charge.
Health and fitness tracking is handled in partnership with Polar, a brand known for its accuracy in serious fitness gear. The Moto Watch supports continuous heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, stress monitoring, calorie tracking, steps, and detailed sleep insights including sleep score and recovery metrics. It also offers dual-frequency GPS for improved accuracy and faster locking, a feature more common on premium sports watches. Bluetooth calling is included for hands-free calls. There is also support for dual-frequency GPS for more accurate location tracking — a feature mainly found on the Apple Watch Ultras and higher-end Galaxy Watches. It could also have some Qira AI features, which is Lenovo’s AI suite.
Pricing and sale details will be announced at launch. The Moto Watch is likely to appeal to users who value long battery life, dependable fitness tracking, and GPS accuracy, while those looking for deep app support and Wear OS features may want to consider other options in the same price range.
