Motorola Razr 60 is now among the most affordable foldables in India but should you get one?

Foldable phones have slowly evolved from prototypes to premium slab phones, but prices have been a bit of a dampener, especially for early adopters on a budget. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 and Flip7 FE, launched in July 2025, retail between Rs 75,000 and Rs 1,00,000, with little room for mass adoption. The Motorola Razr 60, which debuted about a couple of weeks ahead of the Samsung clamshells, is priced at half the price point and makes foldable tech accessible to mid-range consumers. OPPO and Tecno also sell clamshell foldables in India, but they haven’t updated their lineup since 2023. Their phones, the OPPO Find N3 Flip and the Tecno Phantom V Flip2, may occasionally be available at similar prices, though they’re mostly out of stock.

Value-wise, the Razr 60 has decent specs for a foldable of its kind: a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip, a 6.9-inch pOLED 144Hz main display, a 1.5-inch cover screen for alerts, and a 4,200mAh battery with 30W wired and 15W wireless charging. Motorola has also focused on camera upgrades with a 50MP main camera with better low-light performance, perfect for everyday photography and social media sharing. The Quick View external display offers handy multitasking functionalities, permitting users to look at notifications, answer calls, and control media without being obliged to completely open the phone — handy for frequent commuters and working professionals.

At Rs 40,000, the Motorola Razr 60 has a couple of strong non-foldable rivals too, in the form of OPPO Reno14 Pro, Vivo V60, and OnePlus 13R. The Vivo V60 and others in this price range typically have more advanced processors, larger capacity batteries (up to 6,500mAh), and faster charging speeds. Camera types on slab phones are also typically more adaptable with triple camera formats, while the Razr 60 uses a dual-camera configuration but has a higher front-facing camera resolution than most. Buyers looking for an exclusive design and foldable use may be leaning toward the Razr 60, but those who are concerned about performance and battery life may want to opt for substitutes like Vivo V60 or OnePlus 13R.

The Flipkart Diwali Sale price cut gets the Moto Razr 60 into the price bracket of the cheapest foldables available in India. Samsung’s old-gen foldables like the Flip5 may be available at this price point, but they’re two generations old. The Razr 60 also comes with Google Gemini AI, giving it an edge over the old Samsung foldables. While it can’t match the newer and pricier handsets in raw performance or secondary screen features, it does offer a lower-risk entry into an emerging category.

Foldable phones are increasingly becoming mainstream in India, with consumers now eyeing them for everyday use rather than as novelty technology purchases. Coupons like the Rs 10,000 cut on the Razr 60 reflect bigger market movements towards making foldables more affordable. With the rumoured foldable offerings from its rivals, such as Xiaomi, Vivo, and OPPO, in competitive pricing, Motorola is making a point that it will not only compete on price but also on brand popularity.
