The upcoming Motorola Razr 70 Ultra has made its first appearance online, and it’s not through a typical leak or benchmark listing. Instead, the device has been spotted on the HDR10+ certification website, marking its earliest official sighting and confirming its final marketing name. This listing is significant because it not only confirms the “Razr 70 Ultra” moniker but also signals that Motorola is preparing the device for launch.

It also confirms the Motorola Razr 70 Ultra will come with HDR10+ support. This essentially means more vivid colours and better contrast while streaming content with better detail in bright and dark scenes.

The Razr 70 Ultra will be part of Motorola’s next flagship foldable lineup. The Ultra model is usually the top-end, with a standard Razr 70 also part of the series. We had recently come across leaked design renders of the Razr 70 Ultra, giving us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming foldable. Design-wise, the Razr 70 Ultra, like its predecessor, the Razr 60 Ultra, will continue with the clamshell form factor.
Design details of the Razr 70 Ultra
The leaked renders suggest a shift in finish, with a more metallic back replacing the experimental materials like Alcantara or wood seen in earlier models. That said, alternative finishes could still be offered at launch. The leaked dimensions for the Razr 70 Ultra are 171.3 x 74.1 x 7.8 mm when unfolded, and 88.0 x 74.1 x 15.8 mm when folded. This makes the phone slightly thicker than its predecessor. That thickness increase might sound like a drawback, but it might also signal better internals, likely battery or camera upgrades.

Motorola is also expected to stick with a 7-inch inner display and a 4-inch outer display, similar to its predecessor. Other than that, we don’t have any details about the Razr 70 Ultra and what other upgrades we could see on this foldable. It could be incremental, like the battery or cameras getting a bump, and possibly more AI features. The Razr 60 Ultra’s cover display is already one of the most functional among clamshell foldables, so Motorola could build on that with the new generation.
For now, the Razr 70 Ultra makes sense if you are waiting for a new and upgraded flip foldable phone or if you’re upgrading from an older foldable. It can also be recommended to those who want a lot out of the cover display.
Based on the latest sighting and recent leak, Motorola appears to be doubling down on the premium flip segment, where it already has a distinct edge, particularly with its fully functional cover display, which remains more versatile than what most rivals offer. Instead of radically redesigning the product, the company seems focused on refining a winning formula. We should know more in the days and weeks to come.
