Motorola’s next clamshell foldable has surfaced early, offering a close look at what’s coming next in the Razr lineup. In an exclusive shared by XpertPick along with tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer, CAD renders of the Motorola Razr 70 Ultra reveal a design that largely sticks to what the company has been doing with its flip phones. While the overall footprint remains similar, the added thickness could indicate internal changes, possibly around battery or camera hardware.
Motorola Razr 70 Ultra design leak: same look but a slightly thicker body
The Razr 70 Ultra continues with the same clamshell design as the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra. You still get a large cover display wrapped around the dual cameras and a full-sized inner screen when opened. It’s a setup that already works well, especially for quickly using apps without unfolding the phone.
The finish on the back appears more metallic in these renders, moving away from the more experimental materials like Alcantara or wood seen earlier. There could be other finishes with those materials though. The frame layout also stays practical, with a dedicated Moto AI button on the left and the usual power and volume keys on the right.
The leaked dimensions put the phone at 171.3 x 74.1 x 7.8 mm when unfolded and 88.0 x 74.1 x 15.8 mm when folded, going up to 17.63 mm with the camera bump. That makes it a bit thicker than the current model. On paper, that might seem like a step back, but in practice it often points to something useful, like a bigger battery or improved camera hardware. The overall height and width remain almost unchanged, so it should still feel familiar in hand.

The displays, too, are expected to stay the same at around 7 inches inside and 4 inches outside. Motorola’s outer screen is already one of the more usable ones in this category, letting you run full apps without opening the phone.
The Razr 70 Ultra is expected to take on devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 and other clamshell foldables, possibly from OPPO. Motorola’s strength has been its larger, more practical cover display, while Samsung continues to push on software and ecosystem features.
If you’re coming from an older phone, these small improvements could make a noticeable difference day to day. But if you’re already using the Razr 60 Ultra, this may feel like a more gradual upgrade unless Motorola brings gains in battery or camera performance. There’s no official launch date yet. The Razr 70 series is expected to debut in China first, followed by a wider rollout. The current Motorola Razr 60 Ultra was launched in mid-2025, with pricing in India starting at around Rs 99,999. That gives a rough idea of where the Razr 70 Ultra could land, though prices could rise a bit considering the global industry trend of hiked costs considering the memory shortage.
