Nothing Phone (4a) series officially teased, possible colour options revealed

Highlights
  • Nothing Phone (4a) series is tipped to launch in March.
  • The lineup could launch in five colours.
  • Pink and yellow might join the lineup.

Nothing Phone (4a) series is officially teased to launch soon. The lineup could feature two phones: Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro. Since there’s no Nothing flagship coming this year, a lot is riding on the Phone (4a) lineup to make up for the absence of the Phone (4). Nothing has also confirmed the mid-range lineup will offer meaningful upgrades and be closer to a flagship-level experience. Nothing has now released the first teaser for the Phone (4a) lineup with an interesting revelation — colour options.

The teaser is very cryptic in classic Nothing style, but several colours are used, suggesting these could be the colour variants for the upcoming phones. A total of five colours are visible in the teaser: black, white, yellow, blue, and pink. Here, yellow and pink are new additions to join the colour palette as the Phone (3a) series is already available in black and white. The speculation that the teaser is hinting at the Phone (4a)’s colour options also comes from an earlier leak that said the Phone (4a) will launch in pink. So, Nothing might actually expand its options to include more pretty colours.

Nothing is big on design and even involves its community members to create customised designs for their devices. So it’s not entirely surprising to see Nothing getting experimental with the Phone (4a)’s look.

Interestingly, Nothing is also tipped to launch the rumoured Headphone (a) in pink, which will possibly match the Phone (4a).

Other than new colours, the Nothing Phone (4a) series is tipped to come with a new design, a marginal battery bump, and Snapdragon 7s chipsets. One upgrade that’s confirmed is UFS 3.1 storage for the Phone (4a) lineup. It’s also heavily speculated that the Phone (4a) series could launch at a higher price than the predecessor lineup.

These include upgraded storage (UFS 3.1), something the brand has already confirmed. The Nothing Phone (4a) series is also set to get a new design, a marginal battery bump, a Snapdragon chipset, and most importantly, a higher price. The Phone (4a) with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is tipped to cost around $475, which is higher than the Phone (3a)’s $379 launch price for the same variant. The Phone (4a) Pro is also tipped to launch at $540, up from $459 of the Phone (3a) Pro

With rising prices on all new phones, Nothing is also expected to follow the same route, and its CEO, Carl Pei, has talked about this as well. In India, the Phone (4a) series could cross the Rs 30,000 threshold. The Phone (3a) launched at Rs 24,999, and the Pro model at Rs 29,999. But even with increased prices, it would be justifiable as long as Nothing manages to deliver good value with the Phone (4a) series.

Nothing isn’t known for offering the best specifications, but it does deliver a refined overall experience with its phones. Now that the brand has made big promises for the Phone (4a) series and a refreshed design in tow, Nothing fans definitely have lots to look out for. It would be still be advisable to wait and see what these upgrades are, especially for Phone (3a) series users, and also anyone looking to buy a new mid-range phone.
