A screenshot shared by a user on X suggests the stable rollout could start in Korea at the end of this month, followed shortly after by a global and US release.
An X user who goes by the handle @MatthewReiter05 shared a screenshot, citing information from a Samsung support chat (via), suggesting that the update could begin rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S25 series on April 30th in Korea, followed by a wider global and US rollout around May 4th. The timing, if accurate, would bring the update to last year’s flagships a few months after debuting on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.

The screenshot from the Samsung support interaction lines up with an earlier claim from tipster Tarun Vats, who also pointed to April 30th and May 4th. That makes the dates look more believable, especially as Samsung has already been expanding the One UI 8.5 beta to more devices. Even so, support replies are not always reliable, and software schedules can still change if Samsung finds last-minute bugs.
For Galaxy S25 users in the US, the wait may now be close to over. The beta program first opened for the S25 series in December 2025, and Samsung has since pushed nine beta builds with a mix of bug fixes, design tweaks, and feature updates. The company is also testing the software on older phones such as the Galaxy A35, Galaxy A55, and even some Galaxy Z foldables, which suggests the final release is moving through a wider device list.
What One UI 8.5 brings
One UI 8.5 is shaping up to be a fairly major update rather than a minor polish. The feature removes one of the more common friction points between Android and Apple devices, especially for users who move files across both ecosystems. One UI 8.5 is rolling out beyond the Samsung Galaxy S26 series to a wide set of devices, starting with the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, the S24 and S23 lineups, recent Galaxy Z foldables (from Gen 5 to 7), the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 series, and even select mid-range models such as the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G in India. To get it early, users can enrol in the beta via the Samsung Members app and download the update through Settings, although this version may still have bugs.
