OnePlus 16 tipped for major camera overhaul, 200MP sensor likely

Highlights

The OnePlus 15 launched only recently, but attention is already shifting to what comes next. According to a new leak from well-known Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, OnePlus may be preparing a major course correction with the OnePlus 16, and the camera appears to be at the centre of that rethink. OnePlus 15 introduced many firsts, including a new design, an in-house camera technology, a massive battery, and a big focus on performance. The general feedback was disappointment towards what was presumed to be an underwhelming camera setup for a flagship phone. That might change with the OnePlus 16.

The tipster claims that the OnePlus 16 will share its imaging hardware with the upcoming foldable, the Oppo Find N6, suggesting a return to a truly flagship-grade camera setup. Most notably, the Find N6 is tipped to feature a 200MP sensor as part of its rear camera system, which is most likely a periscope telephoto lens. The Find N6 itself is rumoured to pack a triple camera arrangement that includes two 50MP sensors and a third 200MP unit.
