OnePlus Ace 2V vs OnePlus 11R: performance comparison

The OnePlus Ace 2V was recently announced in China for a starting price of CNY 2,299 (about Rs 27,000). There are reports that the device is likely to be repackaged as the Nord 3 in Indian markets. Whether that turns out to be true or not will become clear shortly but from a specs standpoint, the Ace 2V is positioned quite strongly. In terms of processing the phone uses a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, seen last year in a few flagship offerings.

I also have the OnePlus 11R (review) with me, which is also a handset of repute as far as performance goes. Let’s see how both smartphones compare to each other when it comes to processing prowess. It is important to note that the Ace 2V has been imported from China and does not have Google’s Play Store. As a result, all benchmarking applications have been sideloaded on the device.

Geekbench 6

OnePlus Ace 2V (L) vs OnePlus 11R (R)

With the new Geekbench 6 synthetic benchmark, a score is generated on the basis of a chipset’s multi-core and single-core performance. The OnePlus Ace 2V scores pretty well on the test with results of 3,423 and 1,166 respectively. As for the OnePlus 11R, the scores are slightly less at 3,375 and 931. The difference is negligible at the multi-core level but the 2V’s single-core performance is ahead of the 11R by a factor of about 20 percent. Even so, one can say that in most CPU-intensive tasks both phones will be equally matched.

Antutu V9

OnePlus Ace 2V (L) vs OnePlus 11R (R)

The OnePlus 11R is a decent performer on Antutu with the handset obtaining a score of 850,543. However, the result is trumped by the OnePlus Ace 2V which pushes to nearly 1,000,000 on the benchmarking app. It is interesting to note though that the 11R does have a better GPU score than the 2V but is behind in terms of CPU, memory, and UI. As a measure of percentage, the Ace 2V is ahead of the 11R by about 15 percent, which is a decent amount.

CPU Throttle test

It is also important to understand how well a smartphone performs under sustained load. The CPU Throttle benchmark seems like a good way to test this out. During a 30-minute test with 20 threads, the OnePlus Ace 2V is able to maintain about 78 percent of its peak performance while on the OnePlus 11R, that number is about 70 percent. Consequently the former is more adept at keeping its processing power for a long time even if it is continuously under load.

3DMark Wild Life Stress Test

To understand how good the GPU is, 3DMark provides a set of benchmarks that can stress out a system’s graphical capabilities. The Wild Life Stress Test is very similar to the CPU Throttle benchmark with the difference being that the former uses visually challenging tests to gauge the graphical output under load. Here, the OnePlus Ace 2V comes out on top with a stability score of 84.4 percent as compared to 78.2 percent on the OnePlus 11R. It should be noted that the 11R did generate a lot more frames than the Ace 2V which speaks to the chipset’s superior GPU.

Verdict

From these tests, we can gather that the OnePlus Ace 2V, which is priced significantly lower in China (when converted to Indian Rupees) is a more processor-driven option when compared to the OnePlus 11R. However, if you like playing a lot of heavy-duty gaming titles, the latter seems to be a sensible choice. It remains to be seen whether the upcoming OnePlus Nord 3 might share the specs of the Ace 2V and at what price will it be announced in the Indian market.
