OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra tipped for April debut with 165Hz display and Dimensity 9500

Highlights
  • OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra will be the third phone in the lineup.
  • It could feature MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9500 SoC.
  • The handset could directly compete with the rumoured Redmi K90 Ultra.

OnePlus could soon expand its Ace lineup with the launch of the Ace 6 Ultra, which is tipped to debut in China as early as April. The company currently offers the OnePlus Ace 6 and Ace 6T in the series, introduced in October and December, respectively, and the Ultra model is expected to sit at the top as a performance-focused flagship. The Ace series has traditionally catered to users who prioritise speed, gaming, and display quality over camera-centric features.

OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra display, chipset details (leaked)

According to tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo, the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra may feature a large 6.8-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The flagship OnePlus 15 series also offers the same refresh rate, which aids in smooth visuals and gaming performance. The phone is also tipped to be powered by MediaTek’s flagship 3nm Dimensity 9500 chipset, which rivals Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Another leak from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the Ace 6 Ultra has already cleared a certification process in China, hinting that the launch may not be far off. The compact OnePlus 15T is launching in China today, so the Ace 6 Ultra may debut next month.

If these early details hold, the Ace 6 Ultra is likely to compete directly with other performance-driven smartphones, including the rumoured Redmi K90 Ultra, which is also expected to launch around the same time with the same Dimensity 9500 chipset. This sets up a familiar rivalry between OnePlus and Redmi in the high-performance segment, where both brands typically focus on delivering top-tier specs at relatively aggressive pricing.

The inclusion of a 165Hz panel could give OnePlus an edge among competitive gamers, especially if paired with strong thermal management and battery optimisation. The Ace 6 Ultra could be an appealing option if you are looking for a performance-first device with cutting-edge display specs and next-generation processing power. That said, those who prioritise camera capabilities or a more balanced flagship experience may still find better options elsewhere.

As of now, there is no confirmation on whether the Ace 6 Ultra will launch outside China. More details are expected to surface closer to its anticipated April unveiling.
