OnePlus Nord 6 to launch with four IP ratings; camera details revealed too

The OnePlus Nord 6 is shaping up to be one of the most aggressively specced launches in its segment, and with just days to go before its India debut, OnePlus has revealed more key details around the phone’s cameras and durability. Scheduled to launch in India on April 7th, the OnePlus Nord 6 has been steadily teased over the past week, with confirmations now covering its chipset, display, cameras, and even its IP ratings, giving a fairly complete picture of what to expect.

OnePlus has confirmed that the Nord 6 will feature a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP Sony Lytia primary sensor. It supports 2x zoom, dual-axis optical image stabilisation, and a multi-focus system, suggesting a focus on sharper, more stable shots. The main camera is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens offering a 112-degree field of view. On the front, the device houses a 32MP camera also equipped with multi-focus capabilities.

The phone will carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, which is like the strongest durability you can get for a smartphone. The Nord 6 is confirmed to feature a flat 1.5K AMOLED “Sunburst HDR” display with up to a 165Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 3,600 nits, and 3,840Hz PWM dimming. It also supports Aqua Touch 2.0, allowing the screen to remain responsive even with wet fingers — another usability-focused addition. Combined with the high refresh rate display, this setup suggests a device built for both gaming and smooth everyday use. Under the hood, the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, placing it firmly in premium mid-range territory in terms of performance. It’s also confirmed to pack a massive 9,000mAh battery, one of the largest in the segment.
