OnePlus Nord 6 bags new global certifications ahead of early 2026 debut
OnePlus is quietly preparing its next major mid-range launch for the Nord 6 series, based on new regulatory filings. The OnePlus Nord 6 has just cleared the TDRA certification in the UAE, following its earlier appearance on Malaysia’s SIRIM database in December 2025. This OnePlus phone carries the model number ‘CPH2795’, highly believed to be the OnePlus Nord 6. These certifications suggest that OnePlus is on track to launch its new Nord lineup later this year.
While the TDRA and SIRIM documents don’t reveal any hardware specifics, leaks suggest that the Nord 6 could be a global adaptation of the upcoming OnePlus Turbo 6, which is set to launch in China on January 8th. If that speculation is to be believed, the Nord 6 would be one of the most aggressively specced Nord phones yet. Expectations include a large 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, a noticeable jump over the Nord 5’s 120Hz display. It would also put the Nord 6 in line with the flagship OnePlus 15 series.

Performance is also tipped to take a meaningful leap as the Nord 6 is likely to adopt Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a generation upgrade over the Nord 5’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The handset is also expected to launch with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. Memory variants would differ depending on the market.
Battery life could be the real talking point, though. The China-bound Turbo 6 is confirmed to carry a massive 9,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. OnePlus usually reduces the battery capacity outside China, but it’s still a hefty number. If even a slightly trimmed version of this lands in the Nord 6, it would be a monumental upgrade over the Nord 5, which already offers a massive 6,800mAh battery.
Camera hardware is expected to stay practical rather than flashy, with leaks pointing to a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 32MP front camera. This is in line with OnePlus’ recent Nord strategy, which prioritises performance, battery, and display over experimental camera arrays.
On the software front, the Nord 6 is expected to ship with Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 out of the box. Other anticipated features include a plastic frame and at least four durability ratings with IP68, IP69, and even IP69K protection, which would be rare for this price segment.
It’s still too early to talk about the OnePlus Nord 6’s launch, as its predecessor, the Nord 5, launched only in July last year. That said, it’s still interesting to see what OnePlus might have in store for its mid-range lineup.
The OnePlus Nord 6 launch is still months away, but if you are waiting for the phone, then it could be a particularly compelling upgrade from the Nord 4 or Nord 5. If OnePlus manages to keep pricing close to the Nord 5’s launch bracket while delivering flagship-grade performance and a dramatically larger battery, the Nord 6 may end up being a strong value-for-money handset later this year. In a market where brands are increasingly blurring mid-range and flagship lines, OnePlus seems intent on ensuring the Nord series doesn’t get left behind.
