The OnePlus Nord 6’s sale in India will begin on April 9 at 12 PM IST, the company announced today. The phone will be available on the company’s official website and on Amazon India. A few days ago, OnePlus announced it was going online-only, meaning it will stop selling its phone in offline retail stores at some point. However, the OnePlus Nord 6 will also be available in OnePlus Experience stores and select offline stores. The company recently announced it was expanding its service network to over 600 centres across India by using OPPO’s existing network.
In its official teasers, OnePlus has suggested that the OnePlus Nord 6 will be priced between Rs 35,000 and Rs 40,000. The exact starting price will be revealed on April 7. If this is true, the phone will see a price hike compared to the OnePlus Nord 5 (review), which was launched last year, starting at Rs 31,999. This shouldn’t be surprising, considering practically every other new Android phone, even those launched last year, has seen price hikes due to the global memory chip shortage.

The brand has been revealing key features of the OnePlus Nord 6 over the past few days, starting with a massive 9,000mAh battery. This is a significant bump over the Nord 5’s 6,800mAh battery, allowing OnePlus to claim 2.5+ days of battery life on a single charge. The Nord 5 had impressed us in the battery department, and we expect the Nord 6 to take it a few steps further.
Powering the OnePlus Nord 6 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, which is the natural successor to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 that powered the Nord 5. You can expect a noticeable improvement in CPU and GPU performance over its predecessor.
As for the design, the Nord 6 sees a square-shaped rear camera deco compared to the pill-shaped one on the predecessor. The phone seems to have taken inspiration from its flagship sibling, the OnePlus 15. Another feature taken from the OnePlus 15 is the 165Hz display, allowing for 165 fps gaming on titles like BGMI and Call of Duty Mobile.
Durability has also been improved, with the Nord 6 supporting IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. To recall, the Nord 5 only has an IP65 rating. As for the cameras, you’ll get a 50MP Sony Lytia primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP front-facing camera.
Based on what has been revealed so far, the OnePlus Nord 6 is worth waiting for if you’re in the market with a budget of around Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000. No other phone in the sub-Rs 40,000 segment currently offers a combination of 165Hz display and 9,000mAh battery, which gives the Nord 6 a unique place in the segment.
