OnePlus has expanded its Turbo smartphone lineup in China with the introduction of the Turbo 6X and Turbo 6X Pro, two devices aimed at users who prioritise battery life and high-refresh-rate displays in the mid-range segment. While both smartphones share a similar strategy, the Turbo 6X Pro is the more premium offering with an AMOLED display, enhanced camera hardware, and a massive 8,000mAh battery. The standard Turbo 6X, meanwhile, targets value-conscious buyers who need a dependable daily driver.
The biggest highlight is the 8,000mAh battery on the OnePlus Turbo 6X, one of the largest you can find on a mid-range phone. It supports 80W fast charging and bypass charging, making it particularly attractive for heavy gamers and power users. The Turbo 6X Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 Super chipset paired with UFS 3.1 storage and up to 12GB of RAM. This setup suggests capable mid-range performance.
Up front, the device sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display (2772 x 1272 pixels) with a 144Hz refresh rate, which should deliver vibrant and smooth animations for regular use and gaming as well. OnePlus has also equipped the display with up to 1,400 nits of full-screen brightness and 3,600 nits peak brightness.
The handset sports a 50MP primary camera (OIS) with an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 16MP front camera for selfies. This camera setup is quite basic and meant for casual photography. Those seeking a versatile camera setup may want to consider alternatives with a telephoto lens.
The handset also comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, and runs ColorOS 16 with Android 16 out of the box.
The OnePlus Turbo 6X is the affordable option here with toned-down specifications. It also looks different from the Pro model, housing a vertically-aligned camera setup instead of the square-shaped one. The smartphone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Super chipset and features a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD panel with the same 144Hz refresh rate found on the Pro model. The chipset should be good for dependable everyday performance. While the LCD panel may not be as vibrant as AMOLED, the 144Hz refresh rate should make up for it.
Camera hardware is more modest, consisting of an 8MP selfie camera and a rear setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Battery life remains a major selling point, thanks to a sizable 7,000mAh battery supported by 45W fast charging. The handset will compete with mid-range rivals from brands like Vivo, Realme, and Xiaomi.
Other specifications include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, IP64-rated protection, and a plastic-frame construction. The smartphone runs ColorOS 16 with Android 16. Outside China, OnePlus phones run on OxygenOS.
The OnePlus Turbo 6X starts at CNY 1,499 (Rs 21,090 approx) for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The handset comes in Green, White, and Black colours. The Turbo 6X Pro has a higher starting price of CNY 1,699 (Rs 23,904 approx) for the base variant with the same configuration. The smartphone comes in Heart’s Desire Orange and Racing Black finishes.
The Turbo 6X Pro is the clear choice for most buyers. You’re getting a superior AMOLED display, a larger battery, stronger durability ratings, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It delivers significantly better overall value. The standard Turbo 6X makes sense primarily for budget-conscious users or those who specifically prefer LCD screens. Its large battery, 144Hz refresh rate, and competitive pricing still make it an attractive option in the lower mid-range segment.
