OnePlus Turbo aka Nord series smartphone live images & key specifications allegedly leaked
The OnePlus Turbo series has been officially confirmed for launch in China as a mid-range smartphone lineup with a clear focus on gaming performance. It is widely believed that the same device will later arrive in India under the OnePlus Nord branding. Announcing the series on Weibo, OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis claimed that the Turbo lineup will deliver “frighteningly strong performance”, along with class-leading battery life and gaming capabilities when compared to its rivals. If reports are anything to go by, the smartphone could house a mammoth 9,000mAh battery.
Despite its performance-centric positioning, the smartphone is also expected to feature a relatively slim and glossy design. Alleged leaked live images suggest a camera module design inspired by the flagship OnePlus 15 (review), hinting at a more premium visual identity than typically seen in this segment.
According to an exclusive report from Android Headlines, the OnePlus Turbo appears in a turquoise green colourway, complete with flat edges, softly curved corners, and a glass back panel. However, it is said to be a blue colour variant, and the source reveals the smartphone will come in a black hue as well. The leaked images also reveal a squircle-shaped camera module with a matte finish, housing dual camera sensors alongside an LED flash. However, the glossy rear panel raises questions about fingerprint and smudge resistance – an area where similar finishes have often drawn criticism.
While the exact materials remain unclear for now, the OnePlus Turbo appears to feature a flat frame that looks noticeably less glossy than the rear panel in the leaked images. This contrast could help improve grip and make the device more comfortable to hold during extended use.
Only the right edge of the smartphone is visible in the purported live images that seem to feature a volume rocker and a power button. Whether the OnePlus Turbo will also include the AI Mind Button, seen on its more premium siblings, remains to be seen.
Moving on, the publication has also spilt the beans on the OnePlus Turbo specifications. The handset, which is seemingly codenamed as ‘Prado’, will reportedly house a 9,000mAh battery. It seems OnePlus has further refined its silicon-carbon battery technology, allowing it to increase capacity without adding noticeable bulk. While the phone’s exact dimensions are yet to be revealed, the leaked images indicate a fairly conventional slab-style design, rather than anything unusually thick or rugged-looking despite the sizeable battery.
OnePlus Turbo specs include an unprecedented battery
If the smartphone makes its way to India with the same battery capacity intact, it would become the largest-battery smartphone commercially available in the country. To back that massive battery, OnePlus has added support for 80W SuperVOOC fast charging tech. We have seen similar tech charging a battery capacity as big as 7,500mAh in about an hour, so the one on OnePlus Turbo could take around 60-70 minutes to fully juice up from nothing.
Moreover, the OnePlus Turbo is said to sport a 6.8-inch 1.5k display of AMOLED variety with a 144Hz refresh rate. The latter may not be the 165Hz as on the flagships, OnePlus 15 and 15R, but the difference is negligible and may not be apparent for most users. The Turbo should deliver fluid animations and smooth visuals, offered by the OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, as well as high-end games such as BGMI.
At the core of the OnePlus Turbo could house a mid-range Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/ 256GB storage onboard. However, there is a report of another model of OnePlus Turbo, which could be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC. The handset was allegedly reported on AnTuTu with a model number PLU110, scoring an impressive 26 lakh+ score, indicating a strong performance.
In terms of optics, the OnePlus Turbo is expected to debut with a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, it is tipped to feature a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls. This camera configuration mirrors what we have already seen on the OnePlus 15R (review), although only real-world testing will reveal whether the Turbo delivers a comparable level of performance.
OnePlus Turbo launch expected in March 2026
That’s everything we know about the smartphone so far. More details about the OnePlus Turbo are expected to surface as we move closer to its launch, which is currently rumoured to take place in March 2026. OnePlus could potentially use the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 stage, scheduled between March 2nd and March 6th, to introduce the handset to the world.
While much of this remains speculative for now, the leak already positions the OnePlus Turbo as one of the most anticipated smartphones of next year. If it does arrive as part of the Nord lineup, it certainly looks like a promising and meaningful upgrade for the series.
