Just a couple of days ago, a Geekbench listing revealed the key hardware aspects of the OnePlus Turbo, which is expected to be a brand new smartphone under the ‘Turbo’ series. This will be a high-performance-focused lineup that the company will officially unveil in 2026. Today, the renowned tipster, Digital Chat Station, has shed some light on the display panel of the purported OnePlus Turbo smartphone. From the provided information, it appears that the handset’s screen will be somewhat in line with the OnePlus 15.
As shared on Weibo, a popular Chinese social media platform, Digital Chat Station (DCS) claims that the OnePlus Turbo will feature a 1.5K display with a 165Hz refresh rate sourced from BOE. To recall, the OnePlus 15 uses the BOE X3 panel with the same display resolution. While the tipster hasn’t revealed the exact model name of the BOE panel the OnePlus Turbo will carry, there are high chances that the handset will use the X3 panel, the same found on the OnePlus 15.

LTPS tech means that the display can switch between refresh rates of 30Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, and 165Hz, depending on the ongoing task. On the other hand, LTPO technology can pull down the refresh rate to as low as 1Hz to conserve battery.

Other key aspects of the display include reduced power consumption, extended lifespan, and accurate colour reproduction, which will match the likes of top-end flagship smartphones. This will be possible by the use of high-grade luminescent materials, which are substances responsible for displaying visuals and colours in a display. Lastly, the display will place high emphasis on eye protection by deploying high-frequency PWM dimming. Notably, both OnePlus 15 and 15R feature an ‘Eye Care’ mode in the Settings app.

As for other hardware aspects, leaks have pointed out that the OnePlus Turbo will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, the same found on POCO F7 and Nothing Phone (3), up to 16GB RAM, and a jumbo 9,000mAh battery, all encapsulated within a 217g body. Since the OnePlus Nord 5 carried the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, it’s safe to assume that the smartphone in question could be the Nord 6 for India, unless the Turbo series is also released in the country.
If the display and other leaked specifications are to be believed, the OnePlus Turbo is a high-end smartphone in the making that will likely go all out on offering an impressive visual experience while taking eye health into consideration. This will particularly benefit gamers who play back-to-back matches for extended periods. While the OnePlus 15R also offers a 1.5K panel and 165Hz refresh rate, the Turbo could be worth waiting for to get a similar experience at lower price points, since it could be more affordable due to the inclusion of Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, which is a tier below the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
