OPPO Find X9s Pro global launch set for April 21st alongside Find X9 Ultra; dual 200MP cameras incoming, designs revealed
OPPO is set to launch the Find X9s Pro and Find X9 Ultra on April 21st in China. The company had earlier confirmed that the Find X9 Ultra would also be introduced in international markets. It has now added that the Find X9s Pro will also make its global debut at the same event, scheduled for 7 pm local time (4.30 pm IST). Both devices will feature dual 200MP camera systems, placing them alongside the recently launched Vivo X300 Ultra, which is currently the only other phone in this category.

Find X9s Pro keeps things compact, with focus on cameras
OPPO has opened pre-orders for the Find X9s Pro in China, confirming its design, colour options, and memory configurations. The phone will be available in green, silver, peach, and black, with four variants: 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB. The device features a 6.3-inch display with 1.1 mm bezels, placing it in the compact flagship category. This is the same compact space where devices like the Vivo X300, OPPO Reno 15 Pro Mini, Samsung Galaxy S26, and Apple’s iPhone 17 compete, though the price range differs.

Find X9 Ultra design revealed, camera hardware detailed
The Find X9 Ultra, meanwhile, is positioned as the more camera-focused model. OPPO has revealed its camera hardware, while images shared on its official Weibo account show the design and colour options. Additional hardware details have surfaced via a China Telecom listing.
The phone features a 200MP primary sensor with close to a 1-inch size, paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. A second telephoto lens uses a 50MP sensor with 10x optical zoom. OPPO claims improvements in light intake across the system, including a 10 percent gain on the primary sensor and 36 percent on the 3x periscope compared to the Find X8 Ultra. Additional cameras include a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP front camera, along with a 3.2MP true colour sensor aimed at improving colour accuracy.
The China Telecom listing suggests a 6.78-inch display with 3168 × 1440 resolution, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
When it comes to design, the Find X9 Ultra moves away from the matte glass finish used previously and brings back a vegan leather rear with a two-part layout. The device will be available in Earth Tundra, Polar Glacier, and Sand Canyon finishes. It features a large circular rear camera module with four sensors and Hasselblad branding. A promotional video, since taken down, shows a flat display with a centred punch-hole cutout. A dedicated button on the right side is expected to act as a camera shortcut. The design is closer to the Find X7 Ultra, after a more restrained approach with the Find X8 Ultra. It marks a shift back towards a more camera-led approach, with a thicker camera module compared to recent models.
The Find X9s Pro focuses on a smaller form factor without cutting back on core hardware, while the Ultra is positioned around camera performance. That puts the Find X9 Ultra in direct competition with devices like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Vivo X300 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. Xiaomi’s approach typically leans toward larger sensors, aggressive zoom hardware, and bigger batteries, while Samsung’s Ultra model balances a 200MP camera with software features and longer update support. Vivo recently became the first phone to launch with two 200MP cameras. Processing and computational photography would be the deciding factor when it comes to buying advice, with the partnerships from Zeiss and Hasselblad coming into play.
