OPPO K14x design revealed ahead of launch, confirmed to pack 50MP camera and 6,500mAh battery

Highlights
  • OPPO K14x will feature a 50MP AI camera and a 120Hz display.
  • It’s confirmed to house a 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
  • It will succeed the OPPO K13x, which launched at Rs 11,999.

OPPO K14x is launching in India on February 10th as the successor to last year’s K13x. OPPO has been teasing its upcoming and now it has revealed the K14x’s complete design along with more specifications. OPPO’s K-series caters to the mid-range and budget segment, with the K13x offered as the most affordable in the lineup. The OPPO K14x is expected to continue with the same strategy while offering value for its price.

The OPPO K14x will be a Flipkart exclusive product, and it has a dedicated microsite on the e-commerce platform for all the teasers. According to the teaser images, the K14x looks quite like the K13x with its flat design and metal frame. The rear camera module has been redesigned with the flash now sitting outside the camera sensors. It somewhat appears more sleek and refined than the K13x. The OPPO K14x has been revealed in two colours: dark purple and silver/light blue.

The smartphone’s highlight seems to be its 6,500mAh battery, which will be paired with 45W fast charging support. This is a slight upgrade over the K13x’s 6,000mAh battery, but charging speed remains the same. It’s still a decent setup for the budget segment. The OPPO K14x will feature a 120Hz display with 1,125 nits peak brightness and an LCD panel. In comparison to the K13x, the specs are mostly the same, with the brightness level slightly increased from 1,000 nits. If OPPO upgrades the resolution from HD+, then it would be a notable improvement on the K14x.

Interestingly, there’s a downgrade in durability as the K14x is getting an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, while the K13x came with IP65. Although IP64 is the standard for most phones in this segment, the K14x would have an advantage with a higher rating. The main camera continues to be a 50MP sensor on the K14x, possibly packed with AI features.

The OPPO K14x will succeed last year’s K13x, which launched at a starting price of Rs 11,999 in India. Its highly competitive pricing makes it a top recommendation, along with the phone offering a durable design, loud speakers, smooth display, reliable battery life, and feature-rich software. What it could improve on are its cameras, which the K14x can do with better hardware or optimisation. Pricing is also highly important here, as OPPO has already set an expectation with the K13x, so a similar strategy might be expected from its successor.

A price hike could be on the cards, with reports suggesting the OPPO K14x may launch at around Rs 15,000. At this price, the phone would face stiffer competition from rivals such as the Redmi 15, which offers a large 7,000mAh battery, and the Lava Play Ultra, which stands out with an AMOLED display. It will be interesting to see how the OPPO K14x positions itself in this crowded segment. With the launch scheduled for next week, official pricing and specifications should be revealed soon, after which it will be clearer whether the phone makes sense to buy. For now, given the uncertainty, waiting for full reviews would be the safer approach.
