After officially debuting in China last month, the OPPO Reno 16 series appears to be inching closer to international markets, with detailed pricing and variant information surfacing on a European retailer’s site. While 91mobiles exclusively revealed the lineup’s specifications for global variants a few days back, the phones comprising the Reno 16, Reno 16 Pro, and Reno 16 FS were recently sighted on Epto, an Italian retailer. The retailer’s listing gives us a hint of the pricing, at least for the European region.
Table of Contents
According to the Italian retailer Epto, the standard OPPO Reno 16 5G could cost around EUR 890.91 (approx. Rs 98,200) and will be available in Black and White finishes. On the other hand, the listing reveals that the OPPO Reno 16 Pro could sit at EUR 1,087.90 (approx. Rs 1,19,900), also available in Black and White colourways. Lastly, the budget-oriented Reno 16 FS could retail for EUR 791.90 (approx. Rs. 87,300) in the colour options as the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro.
If we’re to believe the pricing, with the figures rounded up, the Reno 16 series could see a significant price bump compared to the Reno 15 series. But then, European prices are generally inflated, especially compared to Asian countries, even with the surge in memory costs factored in. The OPPO Reno 15 currently sells in India for Rs 47,999 for the base 8+256GB model, while the Reno 15 Pro sits at Rs 67,999 for 12+256GB storage.
Given the current component pricing situation, the Reno 16 series is likely to command significantly higher prices in India, since even existing phones across all segments are seeing price hikes on a continuous basis.
OPPO Reno 16
As revealed in an exclusive report by 91mobiles, the standard Reno 16 could feature a compact 6.32-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will reportedly be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and pack a 6,000mAh battery with 80W charging support.
For optics, which could be the lineup’s main highlight, the Reno 16 could boast a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto shooter with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. A 50MP selfie camera is also expected. The handset is tipped to offer an aluminium frame, IP69 rating, stereo speakers, and NFC support. Given the specifications, the Reno 16 could present itself as an option for those seeking a compact mid-range smartphone with premium-grade aspects, such as a telephoto lens and metallic build.
OPPO Reno 16 Pro
The Reno 16 Pro could get a 6.32-inch LTPS AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and a compact form factor weighing just 188g, just like the base Reno 16. Interestingly, the Reno 16 Pro in China has a larger 6.78-inch display. OPPO appears to be following the same strategy as the Reno 15 series, where it launched the Pro model as a compact option in the form of ‘Reno 15 Pro mini’.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8550 chipset running under the hood could be paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The camera setup could consist of a 200MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP 3.5x telephoto camera with OIS, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. A 50MP front camera could handle selfies. The phone is also said to pack a large 6,700mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging. Other highlights include an aluminium frame, stereo speakers, NFC, and IP69 certification for dust and water resistance.
OPPO Reno 16 FS
Expected to be the most affordable model in the series, the Reno 16 FS could get a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The camera setup is tipped to include a 50MP OIS main sensor, 50MP 3.5x telephoto, and 8MP ultrawide, paired with a 50MP selfie camera. It could pack a 6,500mAh battery with 45W SuperVOOC charging.
