POCO C85 and C81 series become up to Rs 1,000 more expensive after the latest price revision

Highlights
  • The POCO C81x remains one of the most affordable smartphones from the brand.
  • The POCO C85 now directly competes against the Realme C83.
  • Just a couple of weeks back, the POCO M8 and X8 Pro series saw price hikes.

Alongside Redmi, which recently revised prices across multiple segments, POCO has also joined in by hiking the prices of some of its C-series phones. This comes in as part of a document released by POCO, which notifies retailers about the price hikes on the POCO C85 5G, POCO C81, and POCO C81x. Just a couple of weeks back, the POCO mid-premium POCO X8 Pro series and M8 saw a price increase of up to Rs 3,000 across all memory variants.

Prices of budget POCO smartphones hiked

The POCO C-series smartphones that see a price revision are as follows:

VariantOld priceNew price
POCO C85 5G4GB + 128GBRs 14,999Rs 15,499
6GB + 128GBRs 16,499Rs 16,999
8GB + 128GBRs 17,999Rs 18,499
POCO C814GB + 64GBRs 10,999Rs 11,999
POCO C81x3GB+ 64GBRs 9,999Rs 10,999

*Price hike as of June 1st, 2026.

All the memory variants of the POCO C85 5G have been bumped up by Rs 500, while the POCO C81 and C81x see a hike of Rs 1,000 each. Even though the price increase isn’t much, it certainly sets a precedent that budget and midrange smartphones are heavily affected by the price hikes due to memory shortages, as we’ve previously seen with Redmi, Realme, OPPO, and other smartphones.

With the POCO C85 now selling for Rs 15,499, it goes directly against the Realme C83, which also carries the same MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, but a larger 7,000mAh battery compared to the 6,000mAh cell on the POCO C85. The POCO C81x, on the other hand, now competes with the HMD Vibe 2, which is a 5G phone and comes with 1GB more RAM.

That being said, if you’re planning to buy either of these POCO smartphones, it’s best to do so soon. Price hikes are likely to continue, and there’s no telling when the next round of revisions will hit the market.
