POCO M8 launched in India earlier this year, in January, as a budget phone priced under Rs 20,000. The smartphone offers a 120Hz display, a 50MP primary camera, four years of updates, and more. Now, it looks like POCO is working on another phone from the same lineup. It’s the POCO M8s, which has appeared on Thailand’s NBTC certification website. This confirms the phone’s moniker and hints at its imminent launch as well.
POCO M8s NBTC listing details
The NBTC certification details confirm the POCO M8s 5G is well on its way. Its moniker is clearly mentioned with the model number 26067PC09G. The listing doesn’t reveal any details other than the phone’s name and model number. But it does strongly suggest an imminent launch for the POCO M8s 5G, at least in Thailand.

Since we don’t have any details about the POCO M8s yet, we can’t confirm what you can expect from the upcoming device. Judging by the moniker, the ‘s’ here could suggest an affordable alternative to the POCO M8. The outgoing lineup has the POCO M7 and POCO M7 Plus, so it’s not clear where the POCO M8s stands.
For now, let’s take a look at what the POCO M8 (review) offers:
- 6.77-inch FHD+ (2392 x 1080 pixels), 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 3,200 nits peak brightness
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC
- 50MP primary rear camera, 20MP selfie camera
- 5,520mAh battery, 45W fast charging support
- Android 15-based HyperOS 2, 4+6 years of software support
The POCO M8 stands out for its slim and lightweight design, along with a bright and smooth display. Despite its modest battery capacity, the handset still offers a reliable battery life with long software support. It, however, falls short among rivals with average cameras and a cluttered software experience.
The upcoming POCO M8s could offer a similar experience at a more accessible price. However, it’s still too early to judge, as no concrete details are yet available. We should start getting more details about the handset soon.
