POCO is preparing to add two new models to its India lineup, with the POCO X8 and X8 Power scheduled to launch on September 4th. The company has already confirmed that the phones will feature 9,000mAh and 10,000mAh batteries respectively, putting them among the highest-capacity smartphones in the segment. Their expected prices have now surfaced, giving buyers a better idea of where the new models could fit in POCO’s portfolio.

POCO X8, X8 Power India price tipped

According to multiple tipsters, the POCO X8 could cost between Rs 28,000 and Rs 30,000, while the X8 Power is expected to be priced around Rs 35,000. POCO hasn’t confirmed either price, so the figures should be treated with a grain of salt until the launch. The two phones would fill the space between POCO’s M-series and its current X8 Pro lineup. The POCO X8 Pro starts at Rs 39,999, while the X8 Pro Max starts at Rs 49,999. The M-series, meanwhile, largely covers the sub-Rs 25,000 segment. POCO was not represented in this segment, so the launch is rather imperative for the brand.

POCO X8, X8 Power: expected specifications

The POCO X8 is tipped to be based on the Redmi Note 17 Pro and could feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display with up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness and Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It could use the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, paired with a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 16MP selfie camera. Its 9,000mAh battery is expected to support 67W wired charging.

The POCO X8 Power, tipped to be a Redmi Note 17 Pro Max rebrand, is expected to move to a 10,000mAh battery with 100W charging. It could also feature the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 32MP front camera. LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage are also tipped, although the exact configurations have not been revealed. It would also offer a larger battery than POCO’s existing Pro models. The X8 Pro has a 6,500mAh battery, while the X8 Pro Max packs an 8,500mAh cell. Both support 100W charging.

The POCO X8 Power’s most direct rival could be the Realme P4 Power, which also packs a 10,000mAh battery. The latter already offers a 10,001mAh battery, 80W charging and a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset. It also has a 6.8-inch 144Hz AMOLED display, 50MP + 8MP rear cameras and up to 12GB of RAM. If the leaked POCO pricing holds, buyers will need to weigh its expected performance and faster charging against the Realme phone’s slightly lower current price, higher refresh-rate display and similarly sized battery. The Realme P4 Power currently starts at around Rs 32,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant.

If the leaked pricing holds, the POCO X8 Power at around Rs 35,000 could be the stronger pick for power users, while the X8 could appeal to buyers looking to stay around Rs 30,000. Buyers considering the X8 Pro at Rs 39,999 should compare its performance and camera hardware against the new models before deciding, particularly if a large battery is not their priority.
