The Realme 16 Pro series is launching in India on January 6th. The launch event is scheduled to start at 12 pm. Both smartphones will be available for sale via Flipkart and Realme India’s online store. More options might be announced at launch.
Design and colour options
This year, Realme is revamping the camera module design, moving away from the familiar square-shaped island to a more sculpted layout that blends into the rear panel. The Realme 16 Pro+ will be sold in two India-exclusive colours: Master Gold and Master Grey. The more affordable Realme 16 Pro will be available in Master Gold, Orchid Purple, and Pebble Grey, offering a slightly more youthful palette compared to the Pro+.
Realme 16 Pro+: key specifications
The Realme 16 Pro+ is positioned as the true powerhouse of the lineup. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and pack a massive 7,000mAh battery, paired with 80W fast charging. While this is the same chipset used in the Realme 15 Pro and several other mid-range smartphones, it’s a tested performer for regular day-to-day usage.
On the camera front, it will house a 200MP main sensor along with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, with possibly 3.5x optical zoom, according to the teasers. This would give the Realme 16 Pro+ camera props among mid-range phones in the segment. With a periscope camera, the Pro+ will have the advantage for zoom shots with better quality than other phones.
The phone will also sport a 4D curved display with headline features such as 6,500 nits peak brightness, ultra-slim 1.48mm bezels, a 2,500Hz touch sampling rate, and support for Netflix HDR content. In terms of durability, the Realme 16 Pro+ will carry four IP ratings: IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K, which should make it one of the most durable phones in its class.
Realme 16 Pro: key specifications
The standard Realme 16 Pro will target users who want strong camera performance without paying flagship money. Like the Pro+ model, the Realme 16 Pro will also house a 200MP primary camera, capable of recording 4K HDR videos. It will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity-7300 Max chipset. This seems to be a new variation of the Dimensity 7300, so we’re yet to test out its performance. The Realme 16 Pro is also getting a 7,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging, and a 6,500 nits display. Realme is adding four IP ratings to the Pro model too, along with a 300 percent ultra-volume mode.
Both the Realme 16 Pro and Pro+ will run Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16 out of the box. The software support is 3 OS upgrades and four years of security patches.
Leaked pricing in India
According to tipsters, the Realme 16 Pro 5G could be priced as follows:

8GB + 256GB – Rs 33,999
12GB + 256GB – Rs 36,999
The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G is expected to start higher:
8GB + 128GB – Rs 39,999
8GB + 256GB – Rs 41,999

Realme’s Number series has traditionally been positioned under the Rs 40,000 mark, so the leaked pricing for the 16 Pro lineup isn’t particularly surprising. Clarity will come once the phones go official, allowing for direct comparisons with rivals in the same segment. For now, the Realme 16 Pro series looks promising for buyers who prioritise high-resolution cameras, large batteries, and premium display features. If you’re currently using a Realme 15 Pro, these upgrades might be significant enough to consider, especially for the camera and battery life. However, it’s still advised to wait for full reviews post-launch to confirm real-world performance and value.
