Realme 16, 16 Pro and 16 Pro+ prices hiked again, now up to Rs 7,000 more expensive than launch price

Highlights
  • This is the first time the Realme 16 is seeing a price hike.
  • The Realme 16 Pro’s 8+256GB variant now sells close to Rs 40,000.
  • The prices have surged due to “unavoidable increase in memory” costs.

Amid the rising memory and component prices, Realme has once again hiked the retail prices of the Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+, per a circular sent to trade partners and retailers. The Realme 16 5G also gets a price bump for the first time since its release in the third week of May 2026. While every model sees a price hike between Rs 1,000 and Rs 3,000 from their previous rates, the Realme 16 Pro+ is now Rs 7,000 more expensive than its launch price.

Taking the latest price hikes into account, the Realme 16 is now up to ₹4,000 more expensive than its launch price, while the Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+ have received price increases of up to ₹6,000 and ₹7,000, respectively.

While the Realme 16’s value proposition doesn’t change much, as the base variant still stays under Rs 35,000, the Realme 16 Pro’s 8GB + 256GB variant now directly competes against sub-Rs 40,000 phones, such as the Motorola Edge 70 Pro and OnePlus Nord 6, both of which carry superior processors over the Realme 16 Pro. Furthermore, both Motorola and OnePlus pack 8GB + 256GB storage into their respective phones for the base variant.

The Realme 16 Pro could still make a strong case for itself by being equipped with multiple standout AI features in Realme UI, such as AI Framing Master and AI Edit Genie. These features assist users in better composition and adding fun elements to the images after clicking. As for the Realme 16 Pro+, the phone’s Rs 2,000 price hike has pushed it to Rs 46,999. This pricing is still lower than its direct rivals, the Vivo V70 at Rs 49,999 and OPPO Reno 15 at Rs 48,999, both of which also have the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor.

The Realme 16 Pro+ offers a versatile camera setup over performance-oriented phones like the iQOO 15R and POCO X8 Pro Max, which are limited to 50MP + 8MP dual rear cameras. The 16 Pro+ gets a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical, and an 8MP ultrawide, along with software niceties, such as AI Framing and AI Edit Genie. Those seeking a camera-centric smartphone can still consider the Realme 16 Pro+, with a minimal design and a large 7,000mAh battery being the bonuses.
