The Realme 16 Pro, which had interestingly become cheaper after getting a price hike, is now more expensive. As for the Realme 16, it received a modest price hike of Rs 1,000 last week, and now again.
Realme 16 Pro price hike
The Realme 16 Pro (review) launched in India earlier this year in January at a starting price of Rs 31,999. After multiple price hikes, it became Rs 39,999, then lowered to Rs 37,999, and now it costs Rs 40,999. This is for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The latest price hike puts the Realme 16 Pro in a different price segment altogether. It now sits in a more premium mid-range category.
With the Realme 16 Pro, you get a vibrant display, all-day battery life, loud speakers, and robust durability. At Rs 40,999, the Realme 16 Pro’s vibrant display remains a strong point for media consumption, but the underwhelming chipset makes it a less attractive option for power users compared to what rivals offer at this elevated price.
Alternatives like the Nothing Phone (4a), which offers a telephoto camera, and the Motorola Edge 70 Pro with a better chipset can be considered as well.

Realme 16 price hike
The Realme 16 (review) has received another price hike just six days after it became costlier by Rs 1,000. It was earlier available at Rs 34,999, but after the latest price, the handset now has a starting price of Rs 35,999. The Realme 16 comes in three variants with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. All three variants have received a price hike. The Realme 16 comes in a compact form factor with a 6.57-inch screen, a unique selfie mirror design, and a large 7,000mAh battery. It’s an overall balanced mid-range phone.

Realme C83 5G price hike
The Realme C83 5G is a budget phone (review) that launched in India earlier this year, in March. At launch, the handset was priced at Rs 13,499, but it was later increased to Rs 16,499. The Realme C83 5G now has a starting price of Rs 17,499 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Although costlier, the Realme C83 5G’s highlights include a large 7,000mAh battery, a 144Hz high refresh rate display, and capable performance with a smooth software experience.
If you currently own an older phone, you can consider upgrading to the Realme 16 Pro or Realme 16 based on your budget and priorities. Since these price hikes are taking place frequently, it would be best to purchase the phone before they become even more expensive than they already are.
