Following its launch in India on January 6th, the Redmi Note 15 5G is now available to purchase across major online and offline platforms. Being the standard model in what could be an expanded lineup comprising several ‘Pro’ smartphones, the Redmi Note 15 aims at offering dependable experiences to the masses. While the display and cameras are the major headliners, the handset also places high emphasis on long software support and battery endurance.
The Redmi Note 15 5G comes in a slew of colour shades, namely Glacier Blue, Black, and Mist Purple, providing buyers multiple options to choose from. Furthermore, the handset is available in two storage options: the 8+128GB configuration is priced at Rs 22,999, while the 8+256GB variant retails for Rs 24,999. The Redmi Note 15 5G will officially sell on Amazon India, Mi.com, and authorised retail partners, including Mi stores.
Since the smartphone is going on sale for the first time starting today, the Note 15 there’s an instant Rs 3,000 off through SBI Bank, Axis Bank, and ICICI Bank credit cards and EMI transactions. Furthermore, Xiaomi Easy Finance will offer the device at 0 percent down payment for up to eight months.
The Redmi Note 15 5G features a rounded frame, measuring just 7.35mm thick and weighing only 178g, making it the lightest Redmi Note smartphone yet. The rear panel also sees some changes from the Note 14. The camera module has been reformed into a squircle, like the Redmi Note 14 Pro series, while the new Redmi branding sits horizontally in the middle.
Similarly, the AMOLED panel has been upgraded to sport curves on each side, and it now measures 6.77 inches, while featuring FHD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120Hz, 3,200 nits of peak brightness, and even support Hydro Touch 2.0 to register wet finger touches. The phone is IP66 rated for protection against water splashes and dust exposure. This is accompanied by MIL-STD-810H certification should ensure the damage is minimal when the phone is accidentally dropped or bumped onto hard surfaces.
Moving to the optics, the 108MP primary camera features a 1/1.67-inch sensor size and is paired with OIS for sharper images. Tagging alongside this camera is an 8MP ultrawide unit for capturing wide perspectives of scenes. Up front, there’s a 20MP camera that can shoot in up to 1080p resolution, while the rear camera is capable of shooting in 4K 30FPS. Thanks to a large sensor, the main camera outputs detailed images in daylight, while the contrast and dynamic range are also on point, as stated in our review.

Surprisingly, photos clicked at 1.5x digital zoom range also retain a noticeable level of details, making it extremely useful for close-up or macro photography. The front camera tends to add warm tones, but the output is usable for posting on social media. In low light, while the results are usable, the photos tend to turn out soft and a bit noisy. Running on the Android 15-based HyperOS 2, the Redmi Note 15 is promised to get four years of OS upgrades and six years’ worth of security updates, ensuring a decent longevity.
Powering up everything on the Redmi Note 15 is the 4nm-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, paired with UFS 2.2 storage and LPDDR4X RAM. During casual usage, it is smooth to operate thanks to the fluid animations and transitions offered by HyperOS; however, the handset may not offer as great gaming performance as others in the segment, due to less powerful hardware.
For a starting price of Rs 22,999, the Redmi Note 15 stands as a suitable option for those looking for a phone with a sleek, durable build with excellent ergonomics and has a premium-looking curved display that outputs sharp details. Then there’s a reliable primary camera that can capture detailed images in daylight, while the software will be supported for years to come.
Grabbing the phone at an offer price of Rs 19,999 further sweetens the deal. However, if you’re looking for a smartphone that delivers top-notch performance in high-end games and even regular use, looking at other options, such as the OnePlus Nord CE 5 at Rs 24,999, might be the way to go.
