Samsung hikes prices of the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy F17 in India
Samsung has reportedly kicked off 2026 with a fresh round of smartphone price hikes in India, impacting multiple Galaxy A-series and F-series models. The updated pricing, which comes into effect from January 5th, 2026, was first shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav and is speculated to be driven by rising component and manufacturing costs. Price hikes seem to be inevitable, as most newly launched flagships in India, such as the OnePlus 15, Vivo X300 series, and OPPO Find X9 series, have been introduced at higher prices. This also suggests a price hike for the upcoming Galaxy S26 flagship lineup.
It’s worth noting that these are list price revisions, which may represent the maximum retail price. It’s not confirmed yet if the online prices will be affected. At the moment, both Amazon India and Samsung’s official India website are still showing the older prices, which indicates that the new price hikes may be rolled out in phases. Buyers could therefore still see the pre-hike list prices for a short while before the revisions are fully reflected across all platforms.

Starting with the Galaxy A56, Samsung has increased the price by Rs 2,000 across all configurations. The 12GB + 256GB variant is now priced at Rs 46,999 instead of Rs 44,999, the 8GB + 256GB model moves from Rs 41,999 to Rs 43,999, and the 8GB + 128GB version is now listed at Rs 40,999, up from Rs 38,999.
The Galaxy A36 series sees a uniform Rs 1,500 hike. Its 12GB + 256GB variant is now priced at Rs 38,499 versus Rs 36,999 earlier. The 8GB + 256GB model has increased from Rs 33,999 to Rs 35,499, while the base 8GB + 128GB configuration now sits at Rs 32,499 instead of Rs 30,999.
Samsung has also revised the pricing of the budget-friendly Galaxy F17 5G lineup by Rs 1,000. The 4GB + 128GB model is now listed at Rs 15,499 (earlier Rs 14,499), the 6GB + 128GB variant at Rs 16,999 (earlier Rs 15,999), and the 8GB + 128GB option at Rs 18,499 (earlier Rs 17,499).
