  • Samsung has yet to confirm the Galaxy F70 5G.

Samsung is expected to launch a new Galaxy F70 series phone soon. This would be the Galaxy F70 5G, which we have spotted on the Google Play supported device list. The listing mentions the device name and model number, confirming its imminent launch. The Galaxy F70 5G will be the third phone in the lineup after the Galaxy F70 Pro 5G and Galaxy F70e 5G. It will also likely sit between the two phones.

Samsung Galaxy F70 5G: what to expect

The Google Play listing doesn’t include any specifications, but it mentions a17x next to the Galaxy F70 5G. It’s only speculation, but this suggests the Galaxy F70 5G could be a rebrand of the Galaxy A17. This wouldn’t be surprising, as we have seen Galaxy F series phones launch with similar hardware to the Galaxy A series or M series.

The Galaxy A17 5G, though, launched last September, making it a year old now, so it’s not clear if the Galaxy F70 will end up launching with the same hardware. The Galaxy A17 features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and a notch design. It’s powered by the Exynos 1330 processor and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

The handset features a 50MP OIS-enabled primary camera, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. This setup is quite versatile for this price segment. For selfies, you get a 13MP front camera. The phone ships with Android 15-based One UI 7 and will get six OS upgrades. The Galaxy F70 5G will likely launch with a newer version of Android.

Since we don’t have any information on the Galaxy F70 5G yet, it’s best to wait for official details. Still, the phone could launch as a budget option for users who want a Samsung 5G phone with long-term software support.
