Samsung’s next generation of flagship foldables is expected to debut soon. This time, the lineup will be one of the most exciting ones so far, with a rumoured Galaxy Z Fold Wide expected to debut. As the name suggests, the Galaxy Z Fold Wide will offer a wider aspect ratio, possibly 4:3, with a 7.6-inch inner screen. There have been several rumours of this foldable debuting this year, and we may have come across another confirmation. 91mobiles has spotted an alleged Galaxy Fold Wide on China’s CMIIT certification database, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
Samsung 2026 foldables get CMIIT certification
Three Samsung foldables have appeared on China’s CMIIT database, which is a mandatory certification for electronics. The Galaxy Z Flip 8, with the model number SM-F7760, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 with the model number SM-F9670, have appeared on the CMIIT database. The listing doesn’t reveal the monikers, but these model numbers have often been associated with the foldables.

A third foldable on the database with the model number SM-F7910 is believed to be the Galaxy Fold Wide. This foldable is heavily rumoured to launch this year alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8. It will be different with a wider aspect ratio for its inner folding screen. Rumours suggest a 4:3 aspect ratio for the inner display. This would make the foldable feel like a smaller, square-shaped tablet than the current Z Fold 7.
It may also offer a better hand-feel for using the foldable to read, watch videos, and for productivity. While the Z Fold’s current aspect ratio has its fans, this wider design could finally unlock the true tablet potential many have been craving, making it a more compelling productivity device for 2026.
The Galaxy Z Fold Wide is also rumoured to come with a 50MP main rear camera and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. The device is said to offer a 4,800mAh battery, which is typical for a foldable. It’s also speculated that the Galaxy Z Fold Wide
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide could launch as Galaxy Z Fold 8, and the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 would debut with the moniker Z Fold 8 Ultra.
With a Wide model joining the lineup, Samsung would have an even bigger portfolio of its foldables. It already offers a clamshell folding design and a book-style foldable in the current lineup. The rumoured Galaxy Z Fold Wide would compete with the iPhone Fold, which is expected to feature a similar wide aspect ratio.
As these are early leaks, potential buyers should await official announcements for full specifications, pricing, and availability before making any purchasing decisions or considering upgrades from current models.
