Smartphones launching next week: Vivo V70 FE, Realme 16 5G, Vivo X300 Ultra and more

As a new week and month begin, we’ll be greeted with several smartphone launches from different price segments. These are launches taking place in India and China from various brands, including Vivo, Realme, and Redmi. In India, the Vivo V70 FE will make its debut, alongside the Realme 16 5G. China will see Vivo’s most ambitious phone to date, the X300 Ultra, launch along with the X300s.

There’s quite a lot to unpack next week, but before that, here’s a recap of all the phones launching in India and China.

Table of Contents

Vivo V70 FE

The Vivo V70 FE is launching in India on April 2nd. It’s the first ‘FE’ model in the lineup and is expected to sit below the Vivo V70 and V70 Elite. The smartphone has already been launched in Indonesia, so we have a good idea of what to expect.

The Vivo V70 FE is expected to be priced between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000. The smartphone appears to offer a well-rounded package with a large battery, big display, strong primary camera, and a durable + stylish design.

Realme 16 5G

The Realme 16 5G is also launching in India on April 2nd. It features a unique selfie mirror with the rear cameras. This is essentially to use the rear cameras for taking group selfies while using the mirror as a viewfinder. The smartphone also has a horizontal camera bar, a slightly compact form factor, and a slim design.

The Realme 16 5G is confirmed to pack a large 7,000mAh battery with 60W fast charging support. The smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo SoC. It will feature a 6.57-inch display and run Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0 out of the box. The smartphone’s dual-camera setup will include a 50MP primary sensor with a 2MP monochrome lens, and a 50MP front camera.

The Realme 16 5G is recommended for users who want a stylish and compact phone but don’t want to compromise on battery life.

Redmi Note 15 SE

The Redmi Note 15 series is getting a ‘Special Edition’, again, on April 2nd. It’s expected to sit below the Redmi Note 15 as an affordable alternative. The smartphone looks quite like its older siblings with a squircle camera design, but stands out in its ‘Crimson Reserve’ colour variant, which is a deep red with a golden frame and a vegan leather finish.

Specifications for the Redmi Note 15 SE haven’t been revealed yet, but it’s expected to be identical to the Redmi Note 15. This smartphone launched at Rs 22,999, so the Note 15 SE could be priced lower, possibly under Rs 20,000. If so, then the Redmi Note 15 SE would be a good option for those who are on a budget but still prefer the Note 15 lineup. However, given the rapid pace of launches, budget-conscious buyers might consider waiting for initial reviews before committing to this model.

Vivo X300 Ultra

Vivo X300 Ultra is the top-end model in the X300 series, and Vivo’s most ambitious yet. Vivo is going all-in on the cameras with rumours suggesting a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. What’s more interesting is the new Zeiss 400mm Extender Kit for the X300 Ultra. It’s claimed to deliver a pure optical 200MP output at 17.4x zoom. Together, the Vivo X300 Ultra would be vying for the ultimate camera phone.

For now, the Vivo X300 Ultra is confirmed to launch in China on March 30th. But there are rumours that it could debut globally this time, and possibly in India too. If so, then the Vivo X300 Ultra would be a top pick for photography enthusiasts who are willing to spend a premium. But those who already have a flagship like the Vivo X300 Pro or the OPPO Find X9 Pro, may want to check out reviews before making the commitment.

Vivo X300s

Vivo X300s will debut alongside the X300 Ultra. It’s confirmed to pack a massive 7,100mAh battery, which should result in a good two-day usage. The handset is tipped to feature a 6.78-inch BOE Q10+ 1.5K display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It could house a Zeiss-powered triple-camera setup with a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. The smartphone could be powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset.

With the X300s, Vivo would be offering an alternative to the compact X300 with a larger display but still powerful cameras.

OPPO K15 Pro series

OPPO is also launching a new smartphone lineup in China on April 1st. It’s the OPPO K15 Pro series from the brand’s mid-range lineup. Similar to the previous models, the OPPO K15 Pro series is also expected to feature a gaming-focused design. In terms of specs, the OPPO K15 Pro is expected to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 SoC and a 6.59-inch 1.5K flat OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which would give it a compact feel. The handset may also house a massive 7,500mAh battery.

The second K15 Pro model could house a slightly larger 6.78-inch display with an identical resolution and refresh rate. It will be the more powerful model with the Dimensity 9500s SoC, up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. It’s also tipped to house a large 8,000mAh battery, making it a performance and endurance-focused smartphone.

With the K15 Pro series, OPPO would be targeting the premium mid-range segment, specifically, power users who don’t want to compromise on battery life or performance. The compact may appeal to regular users too, who want a smaller phone but still a large battery.
