Vivo has launched the X300 Ultra in India, its most camera-forward flagship yet and arguably one of the most comprehensively specced photography phones to arrive in the country in 2026. Built around a triple ZEISS lens system covering 14mm, 35mm, and 85mm focal lengths, the X300 Ultra falls into the ultra-premium segment and makes a strong case as a viable replacement for a dedicated camera across a range of shooting scenarios. It pairs that with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a 6,600mAh battery, and a 2K AMOLED display, among other things.

Cameras
The camera system is undoubtedly the highlight of the Vivo X300 Ultra, so let’s start there. It uses a triple-lens ZEISS setup covering three prime focal lengths, each with a large sensor and OIS, a configuration Vivo describes as the ZEISS Master Lenses Collection.
The primary camera is a 35mm 200MP Sony LYTIA 901 (1/1.12-inch) sensor at f/1.85, with CIPA 6.5 stabilisation. The 35mm focal length gives it a natural, human-like perspective suited to everyday shooting, street photography, and portraiture. The ultrawide is a 14mm ZEISS camera with a 50MP LYT818 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, OIS, and CIPA 6.0 stabilisation, capable of 4K 120fps video. The telephoto is an 85mm ZEISS Gimbal-Like Stabilisation APO Telephoto with a 200MP sensor, featuring OIS rated at CIPA 7.0 and 60fps AF tracking in Snapshot mode. All three rear cameras support ZEISS T* coating and Super Blue Glass to reduce flare and ghosting.
Chipset
Coming to the processor, the X300 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 3nm chip with a peak clock speed of 4.6GHz. Vivo claims an AnTuTu score of over 4.2 million, but we’ll run our own AnTuTu test to verify it in our full review. The chip is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra Pro RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Critically for a photography-focused device, Vivo has also built in a dedicated Pro Imaging Chip VS1+, a 6nm imaging processor capable of up to 80 trillion operations per second, which works in parallel with the SoC to handle RAW domain processing, noise control, and dynamic range with 20% faster image output speeds than its predecessor.
Software and connectivity
The X300 Ultra runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, with five major OS updates and seven years of security patches promised. While this is a decent policy, brands like Google, Samsung, and Apple offer seven years of OS updates for their flagships. Some OriginOS 6 features include the Origin Island notification system (Vivo’s equivalent of Dynamic Island) and an AI suite covering AI Creation, AI Transcript Assist, Vivo DocMaster, and AI Captions.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, USB 3.2 (up to 10Gbps), NFC, eSIM, and NavIC positioning. Dust and water resistance is rated at IP68 and IP69.
Display
The Vivo X300 Ultra features a 6.82-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution of 3168 x 1440, 510 PPI, and a 144Hz refresh rate with 1-144Hz adaptive range. Peak brightness reaches 4,500 nits locally and 1800 nits globally. HDR support includes Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Netflix HDR. Eye protection is provided by 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and TÜV Rheinland Flicker-Free Certification.
Battery
A 6,600mAh Semi-Solid-State Battery 2.0 is found inside the X300 Ultra along with support for 100W FlashCharge wired and 40W Wireless FlashCharge. A Battery Life Extender mode preserves all tasks and game progress when the battery hits 1%, restoring the phone to its exact prior state the moment you plug in.
Colours
The Eclipse Black variant uses a glass fibre back and a subtle red ring around the camera module. This colour option measures 162.98 x 76.81 x 8.19mm and weighs 232g. The Victory Green variant features a glass back with a two-tone design. It is slightly thicker and heavier than the Black variant, measuring 8.49mm thick and weighing 237g. Both feature an aluminium alloy frame.
The optional Imaging Grip Kit adds a 2300mAh battery, a physical shutter button with half-press focus support, a customisable control dial, a video button, a zoom lever, and a function button, turning the X300 Ultra into a more camera-like shooting experience. The ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 (200mm equivalent, 153g) and Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra (400mm equivalent, 248g) attach to the telephoto camera and are compatible with the Imaging Grip Kit via adapter rings.
Who should buy the Vivo X300 Ultra?
If photography is your primary reason for buying a flagship, the X300 Ultra is one of the most compelling options available right now. Vivo is clearly aiming to be the undisputed leader in smartphone photography. Three large-sensor ZEISS lenses covering three prime focal lengths are a hardware setup that very few smartphones can match. Add the dedicated VS1+ imaging chip, 4K 120fps multi-focal video, and the optional Imaging Grip Kit with telephoto extender accessories, and the X300 Ultra makes a credible case as a standalone creative tool rather than just a phone with a good camera.
Beyond imaging, the rest of the hardware is as flagship-grade as you can get. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 100W wired and 40W wireless charging, IPX8/IPX9 water resistance, and a seven-year security update commitment mean the phone is built to last for several years.
However, the X300 Ultra is an expensive phone, and it becomes even more expensive when you add the camera kit.
