Vivo T5 Pro launched in India with a massive 9,020mAh battery: check price, specifications

The Vivo T5 Pro goes on sale on April 21. It starts at Rs 29,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant and goes up to Rs 39,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model. As part of the launch offer, buyers can get up to a Rs 3,000 instant discount on purchases made via HDFC Bank, SBI Card, Axis Bank, or UPI. There is also an exchange bonus of up to Rs 3,000 if you are trading in an old device. Here is a closer look at what it offers and whether it is worth buying.

Vivo T5 Pro: specifications, features

The battery is the biggest talking point here. Vivo uses what it calls 4th Gen Silicon-Carbon Anode technology to fit a 9,020mAh cell into a body that is just 8.25mm thin and weighs 213 grams. For context, most phones with batteries this large tend to be quite thick and heavy, so the T5 Pro’s slim profile could make it easier to carry and use daily.

With 90W FlashCharge support, the brand claims the phone can recharge from 1 to 50 percent in about 37 minutes. There’s also the Bypass Charging feature, which helps keep the phone cooler when you are gaming while plugged in.

On the performance front, the Vivo T5 Pro is a bit underpowered compared to its predecessor the Vivo T4 Pro (review). It uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, which is typical for this segment given the recent wave of launches. The phone also comes with a 7000mm² large vapour chamber cooling system, which could help it sustain performance over longer gaming sessions without heating up too much. In terms of gaming capabilities, Vivo claims the phone can run BGMI at a stable 90FPS and titles like Clash of Clans at 144Hz.

For visuals, the 6.83-inch AMOLED display has a 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. That should make it easy to see outdoors and smooth to scroll through. It is a flat panel, making it more durable and easier to grip than curved displays. Vivo has also added eye-care features like 2160Hz PWM dimming for low-light use and an Anti-Motion Sickness mode.

For cameras, the T5 Pro uses a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor as the main shooter. It supports OIS and EIS, shoots 4K at 30FPS, and can zoom up to 10x losslessly. The front camera is 32MP and supports 4K video as well. The camera setup is a slight downgrade as well and no longer comes with a telephoto lens, which its predecessor came with.

The device comes with Origin OS based on Android 16 out of the box and promises up to 3 OS upgrades and 5 years of OS security patches, which is typical for the price segment.

Durability is another area where the T5 Pro comes with new upgrades. It carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings, meaning it should handle rain, splashes, and even high-pressure water. The Shield Glass on the front is designed to resist scratches, and the charging port is platinum-plated for better long-term corrosion resistance.

Should you buy the Vivo T5 Pro?

Unlike its predecessor, the T5 Pro looks like a battery‑first upgrade. The older phone is slimmer, has a curved display, and offers a more flexible triple‑camera setup with a periscope lens, so it may still suit you better if zoom and in‑hand feel matter more. The T5 Pro, in contrast, should deliver much longer screen‑on time, a flatter and sharper 144Hz 1.5K panel, and better IP68/IP69 protection, which might appeal more to heavy users and people who are hard on their phones.

Vivo’s focus is different from competitors like the Nothing Phone 4a (review) and Redmi Note 15 Pro (review). Nothing offers a cleaner, near‑stock Android experience, the Glyph interface, and more versatile cameras with a telephoto lens, while Redmi has high‑resolution imaging with a 200MP main camera and a more balanced approach.
