Vivo is set to expand its V-series lineup in India with the launch of the Vivo V70 FE on April 2nd. Notably, we had already exclusively reported on both the launch timeline and key specifications earlier, and the official announcement now aligns closely with those details. The upcoming model also marks a significant shift for the series, as it will be the first “FE” (Fan Edition) device, likely positioned as a more accessible alternative to the Vivo V70 and Vivo V70 Elite.
In addition to the launch date announcement, Vivo has also given us a good look at the V70 FE’s design and colour options. The smartphone is seen in two colour variants, which we’ve already talked about in our previous leak. The Vivo V70 FE may launch with an experimental design. The ‘Monsoon Blue’ variant, which features a matte finish in regular lighting, will reportedly reveal streak-like glowing patterns in the dark after exposure to light. Vivo is expected to market this as its “Darkness Glow” material, a luminous rear panel that subtly glows in low-light conditions.
Alongside this, the ‘Northern Lights Purple’ option offers a more conventional gradient finish, catering to users who prefer a softer aesthetic. Completing the design is Vivo’s signature Aura Light ring flash, placed below the camera module, which continues to target portrait photography improvements, a long-standing focus for the V series.
The V70 FE has already debuted in Indonesia, giving a clear indication of what Indian buyers can expect. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset, a capable mid-range chipset, but performance is something we’ll get to know about later. Up front is a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This screen size is larger than the V70 and V70 Elite (6.59-inch), giving users an option who prefer larger displays for entertainment.
The headline feature, however, is the 200MP primary camera, which should give it an edge over rival phones in terms of photography. Supporting this are an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 32MP front camera. Battery life is another major highlight. The phone packs a 7,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging, reflecting a broader industry trend where larger battery capacities are almost a necessity now.
Combined with IP68 and IP69 ratings, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and configurations going up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, the V70 FE aims to deliver a well-rounded package.
The Vivo V70 FE is expected to be priced between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000. It would sit in one of the most competitive segments in the market, where performance, battery life, and camera capabilities often determine buying decisions. The Vivo V70 FE may have an upper hand with its premium aesthetics and strong primary camera. With the launch set for next week, it would make sense to wait for the Vivo V70 FE, especially if you’re planning to buy a mid-range smartphone.
