Vivo V80 specifications

Vivo V80 features a compact 6.59-inch 1.5K (2750×1260 pixels) AMOLED display, 144Hz refresh rate, 5,000 nits peak brightness, and 1800 nits in HBM. While the screen size isn’t as compact as the smaller phones, it sits between a small and large phone. The 144Hz refresh rate is an upgrade over the V70, while the other specs are largely the same.

Powering the V80 is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, which is the same one found in the V70. While this is a capable mid-range chipset, it falls short in terms of performance among alternatives like the iQOO 15R and OnePlus 15R. On the software front, the Vivo V80 runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17, making it the first Vivo phone to launch with this version. Vivo is also offering four OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates with the V80, making it long-term secure.

The Vivo V80’s highlight is its 7,200mAh battery, the biggest so far in the lineup. It comes with 90W fast charging support, thereby giving a good setup in terms of battery endurance. Like its successor, the Vivo V80 also comes with Zeiss optics. The optics include a 50MP OIS main camera, a 50MP telephoto camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP group selfie camera. The smartphone also comes with different focal lengths like 85mm and 100mm for close-up portraits, 30+ AI-powered creative features, including AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, and 4K Cinematic video recording support.

The new Vivo smartphone also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. You also get a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor with the V80, which is usually reserved for flagship phones.

At a starting price of Rs 62,999, the Vivo V80 enters a more premium segment, reflecting the broader price hikes across the smartphone market. For buyers prioritising a versatile camera setup with AI features, a large battery, and a stylish design, the Vivo V80 is a compelling option. However, given its price, it is worth comparing its hardware, cameras, and features with similarly priced rivals before making a purchase.
