The Vivo X300 Pro is now more expensive in India. Vivo’s official website shows the 16GB/512GB variant priced at Rs 1,19,999, up from its launch price of Rs 1,09,999, a straight Rs 10,000 hike. Meanwhile, it seems the vanilla X300 has been quietly discontinued, as the phone is no longer available to buy on Vivo India’s official website.

The X300 Pro launched in India this past December at Rs 1,09,999, itself a jump from the Rs 95,000 starting price of last year’s X200 Pro. With this latest increase, the X300 Pro has gone up by nearly Rs 25,000 in the space of a year, once compared against its predecessor’s launch price. This is reflective of how the smartphone market has been in general due to the ongoing memory chip shortage.
The X300 saga continues
This isn’t the first sign of trouble in Vivo’s X300 lineup this year. Back in May, we reported that the standard Vivo X300 appeared to have been quietly discontinued in India, based on its disappearance from Flipkart and Amazon. At the time, the phone was still listed on Vivo’s own online store, and we noted that this could either be a temporary stock shortage or a gradual phase-out.
That uncertainty now looks to be resolving in one direction. The Vivo X300 is currently showing as unavailable on Vivo’s own website as well, the last remaining channel where it was still listed. Between that and the X300 Pro’s price hike, Vivo’s flagship lineup looks like it’s being reshuffled from both ends, the cheaper X300 exiting quietly, and the pricier X300 Pro moving further upmarket.
Is the Vivo X300 Pro still worth the extra money?
I called the Vivo X300 Pro the camera phone to beat when I reviewed it back in December, and a Rs 10,000 hike, especially in the ultra-premium segment, doesn’t change the fundamentals of what made it stand out.
The phone’s 50MP main, 200MP telephoto, 50MP ultrawide, and 50MP selfie camera system remains genuinely versatile, and the optional ZEISS 2.35x telephoto extender kit is still one of the more interesting accessories in the segment. The Dimensity 9500 chipset and OriginOS combination continues to deliver fast, fluid day-to-day performance, and the 6,510mAh battery comfortably lasted a day and a half when we reviewed it back then. The cherry on top is quick 90W charging support.
That said, the case for the X300 Pro was always strongest for buyers who prioritise photography above all else. For such buyers, the X300 Pro’s core strengths haven’t gone anywhere; only its price has moved. Interestingly, its direct rival in the camera space, the Find X9 Pro, is still sitting at Rs 1,09,999 and is yet to see a similar price hike, making it slightly more appealing at the moment.
