Vivo has confirmed that the X300 Ultra will launch in India on May 6th, with teasers now live across its official channels. The phone made its debut in China in late March, and its arrival here was confirmed, and now we have a date on the calendar.
In a separate teaser, Vivo announced the X300 FE will also arrive in India on the same day. That would give Vivo a spread across price points, with the Ultra clearly sitting at the top as the showcase device.

Vivo X300 Ultra launch
The Vivo X300 Ultra will be unveiled in India on May 6th at 12 noon and will go on sale via Amazon, Flipkart, and Vivo’s own online store. This also marks the first time Vivo is bringing its Ultra series to India, a lineup that has so far stayed limited to China. That matters because the Ultra is where Vivo tends to push its Zeiss-backed camera ambitions the furthest.
Vivo X300 Ultra specifications
The headline feature is hard to miss. The Vivo X300 Ultra uses a dual 200MP camera setup, combining a primary sensor with a periscope telephoto lens. On paper, that translates to 3.7x optical zoom, stretching up to 105x digitally. The phone supports external Zeiss telephoto lenses, including 200mm and 400mm options, that attach via a dedicated case. Vivo has already shown this setup at MWC, where the phone, grip, and lens together looked closer to a compact camera system than a typical smartphone.
Alongside that, the rest of the hardware is what you would expect at this level:
- A 6.82-inch 2K LTPO OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate.
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
- A 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging.
- A 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP front camera.
The design sticks to Vivo’s usual playbook, with a large circular camera module and a flat-edged frame. Colour options seen globally include green, silver, and black.
In China, the X300 Ultra starts at CNY 6,999 (around Rs 96,000). In India, it is expected to go well past the Rs 1 lakh mark, putting it alongside devices like Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra and Xiaomi’s top-end Xiaomi 17 Ultra, besides the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
At that price, the basics are already covered across brands with fast chips, sharp displays, big batteries. Vivo is trying to stand out with its camera system, especially zoom. The addition of external lenses is not something most buyers will use every day, but it does open up use cases that standard phone cameras don’t quite reach.
That also makes the X300 Ultra a more targeted device. If photography, particularly long-range zoom, is a priority, it offers something different. If not, there are other flagships in the same price range that deliver a more conventional, all-round experience.
