[Exclusive] Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra European prices revealed ahead of global launch

Highlights
  • The Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra could launch before MWC in March.
  • The Xiaomi 17 could start at EUR 999, which is the same price as the Xiaomi 15.
  • The Xiaomi 17 Pro models may not launch outside of China.

The Xiaomi 17 series launched in China late last year and one of the models is being prepped for its global launch, besides the new top-of-the-line Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Pricing details for the vanilla Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra have appeared in Europe, offering one of the first looks at how Xiaomi will position its next premium phones globally.

According to a listing spotted by us, the Xiaomi 17 is expected to arrive in Europe with a starting price around EUR 999 (around Rs 1.08 lakh) for the 12GB +512GB model, while the 17 Ultra could carry a price tag near EUR 1,499 (around Rs 1.62 lakh) for the 16GB + 512GB storage variant. While the listings show prices of EUR 973 and EUR 1,327, we speculate the prices could land closer to the rounded figures based on last year’s prices. These figures also suggest Xiaomi is aiming to keep its pricing broadly in line with the previous generation as the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra were similarly priced in Europe last year. The Xiaomi 17 is listed in black and green colour options, while the Ultra will get two additional blue and white options, besides the aforementioned ones.

The pricing leak comes as the brand prepares for a global debut of the series, likely ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in early March. Xiaomi has already launched the series in China, and the standard Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra is expected to reach India around March. The Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max models with the secondary rear displays are reportedly not coming to markets outside China.

The Xiaomi 17 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, placing it in the ultra-premium Android segment alongside rivals from Samsung and OnePlus. The 17 Ultra is expected to pack the same chipset. The standard 17 is expected to offer a triple 50MP camera array and a large 7,000mAh battery, while the Ultra should come with a heavier photography focus.

European pricing for flagship Android phones has been shifting upward as component costs rise, particularly for advanced camera systems and high-end chipsets. In that context, Xiaomi’s pricing appears to be competitive. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is priced in the same bracket in Europe, and so is the Vivo X300 Pro — both photography-oriented flagships.

For buyers in India, going by history, the Xiaomi 17 could launch in the Rs 70,000 – Rs 80,000 range, while the 17 Ultra may sit closer to the Rs 1 lakh mark, though exact figures will only be clear at launch. This would put both models in direct competition with Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series, which is launching on February 25th, and other photography flagships like OPPO’s Find X9 series and Vivo’s X300 series.

From a buying perspective, the choice will come down to value in photography and performance versus price. If Xiaomi maintains strong hardware and camera capabilities while keeping prices similar to last year’s models, the 17 series could offer a compelling alternative to pricier rivals. Shoppers who care more about software support and experience may still lean towards Samsung’s upcoming flagships. However, the formal launch announcement will give a clearer picture.
