Xiaomi’s Civi series was earlier rumoured to have been possibly discontinued as plans for the Civi 6 smartphone were reportedly cancelled. However, it is now being speculated that the Xiaomi Civi 6 is still on track to launch this year. Talks around a new Xiaomi smartphone on Weibo have surfaced, with confirmation from popular tipsters. There’s another leak suggesting the possible specifications of the Civi 6. Xiaomi’s Civi series was introduced in 2021 as a sub-flagship lineup with a focus on a slim and premium design and Leica cameras. Xiaomi even brought one of the phones as 14 Civi, to India in 2024. With news of the Xiaomi Civi 6 possibly launching, there’s hope for the phone to arrive here as well.
Coming to the Xiaomi Civi 6 leak, Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station posted about an upcoming Xiaomi phone with a dedicated AI button. The name of the phone wasn’t mentioned, but talk around the post suggested it’s the Civi series. Another tipster, Smart Pikachu, chimed in to say that the Xiaomi Civi 6 is indeed on track to launch, so interested users can keep an eye on it.
Possible specifications of the Xiaomi Civi 6 have also surfaced on Weibo. Again, the phone’s name hasn’t been mentioned, but it’s believed to be that of the Civi 6. Based on this leak, the Xiaomi Civi 6 is tipped to feature a 200MP main camera with a telephoto lens (3x optical zoom) and a 50MP selfie camera. It could feature a 6.59-inch LIPO quad-curved display, dual speakers, a metal frame, and a glass back. The smartphone is also tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
Based on DCS’s post, the Xiaomi Civi 6 could also come with a dedicated AI key, which isn’t surprising, as most phones from OnePlus and Nothing offer a dedicated AI button. The functionality may be similar to content captured through the AI key, which is intelligently stored in a dedicated space.
While these leaks do point towards a Xiaomi Civi 6 in the future, it’s still not concrete enough to confidently expect its launch. It’s still good news for fans of the Civi series and those who may have been waiting for a similar phone from Xiaomi. Since the Civi 6 will be powered by the older Snapdragon 8 Elite, it would sit in the sub-flagship or premium mid-range segment, a popular space for buyers who want the premium experience without the flagship price tag. That way, the Xiaomi Civi 6 would be a good choice for those who want a stylish design with an overall balanced specs sheet.
If the phone does launch, it would arrive in China first. There’s no word on whether it will make it to India or not since there was no new Civi model in 2025. So it’s best to wait for more concrete details about the Civi series before making any buying decisions.
