Xiaomi’s new Air Purifiers tipped to launch under the Mijia sub-brand in August

New Air purifiers might be launching soon
A recent X post by tipser Abhishek Yadav claims that Xiaomi will introduce new air purifiers under the Mijia sub-brand in late August 2026. That claim seems to be likely too, based on the timeline since Xiaomi’s last Air Purifiers launched back in April 2023, named Smart Air Purifier 4 and Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite.

These purifiers have been rather popular across the consumer base, particularly those living in North Western Indian states, Delhi NCR and other metro cities which end up engulfed in extremely polluted air during the winters.
The upcoming device could be the Mijia Air Purifier 6 that’s already available for purchase globally. If that proves to be true, we already have all the information about the device available.
The Mijia Air Purifier 6 offers good upgrades over the Smart Air Purifier 4, with a clean air rate of 443 m³/h for dust and smoke and 218 m³/h for formaldehyde. That should be fast enough to refresh the air in a normal bedroom in around four minutes and can also cover larger rooms up to 50 square metres. The biggest upgrade over the older Air Purifier 4 is its new 5-sensor system.
It also includes a special PM1 sensor alongside standard PM2.5, pollen, temperature, and humidity tracking. This PM1 sensor detects micro-pollutants so small they can enter your lungs, giving you a complete picture of your indoor air during the harsh winter season.
Inside the unit, Xiaomi uses a 5-layer filter system to trap dust, pet hair, and bad smells. It also features a built-in UVC light and a negative ion generator. These two tools claim to actively kill viruses like H1N1 and airborne bacteria instead of just trapping them on the filter surface. Even with stronger airflow, Xiaomi says the Sleep Mode runs at just 32 dB; that means you can leave it running all night without any loud motor hum disturbing your peace.
There’s no word yet if it’s a single purifier launch or if there will also be a lite model, and we’ll know more as we head closer to the launch.
Should you wait for the new purifiers?
If you are looking to purchase an air purifier or want to upgrade to a newer model, the new Mijia Air Purifier looks to be a decent product, at least if the specifications match the global variant. Air purifiers are increasingly becoming an essential product, especially across the northwestern states where smog and pollution levels regularly stay at hazardous levels.
This makes a device that can clean the air a true necessity. It not only helps safeguard you against infections and lung diseases, but the consequences of breathing toxic air are extremely severe, so we do recommend getting one if you live in regions that suffer through this issue during winter.
It is likely that the new purifiers will be priced around Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000, given how scarce they become in winter when everyone rushes to buy one. However, if you need one right away, popular alternatives like the Coway Airmega 150 fall in a similar budget and perform just as well. While the Coway Airmega 150 lacks a digital AQI monitor, it remains a great choice if you prefer a simple, proven option over waiting for Xiaomi’s latest launch.
