It's ridiculus when the processor is powerful enough to play 1080P videos, what good watching them on HVGA display. The modem is too good, but does it make a difference in India, because most operators have not upgraded to offer HSPA+ speeds and even if they did, they are pricey.Because of that 7.2 Mbps or HSPA+ does not matter to the customer. Please don't be fooled by the benchmark scores, the scores are so high because it has low resolution to drive compared to other phones. The performance will be somewhat better dual core A9. In real world user experience, there wont be a difference between this phone and XOLO A700 and infact XOLO A700 might give u better experience with good resolution and infact if the applications are properly coded for dual core processors it will outperform intel one easily. Intel processors have high single core performance and most applications does not take advantage of dual core processors, that is why they are snapppier than some dual core phones and that is reason why samsung single core A9 or A8 phones performs smoothly compared to Micromax or Karbonn's phones with Qualcomm's play processor(dual core A5). Specs and benchmark never give the complete picture of a phone.Nearly 75% of android phones have WVGA screen(800*480) or qHD(960x540) as on october 2012 and all Indian manufacturers are giving WVGA screen for 6K, so the percentage would be increased by now and FHD phones are flooding the market, So in feature low end means WVGA display and developers may not support HVGA screens and it would frustrating when you are not able to install a certain application because of the screen resolution, even though the processor can do it.Intel released this phone only to show to other OEM's that they can deliver performance and they don't give a shit about consumers, so don't expect much in terms of upgrades and support. Lava is no Samsung, for aftersale support and accesorries. If your on a budget, it's better to go with A700(or even MMX A89 for 6.2K) than this phone, you get good screen to enjoy the videos and browsing experience would be good on qHD than on HVGA(high resolution==easy to read text and more content shown at a time). Why to pay for the features you don't use or won't make a difference.
First of all,as always, great service from Flipkart! :)nAs mentioned in another review, the X500 is manufactured by Intel (Intel Semcon, Hong Kong as mentioned on the product box pack). It is imported by Lava International. As i understand, the same device is launched by a company called Safaricom in Africa.nProsn1. A good form factor - not too big, not too smalln2. Capacitive multi-point touch, smooth and responsiven3. WiFi connection is extremely fastn4. Nice, crisp displayn5. Battery backup is good (i am not a heavy user, anyway)n6. Camera seems OK (i have not fully explored it though)n8. 3G network support on SIM1n9. Good signal receptionn10. Good build qualityn11. 1080p HD video recording and playback (checked a 1080p video and it played smoothly)n12. Intel Inside!nNote : If anyone experiencing signal reception problem in SIM 1, set it to use 2G network. SIM 1, by default, is configured to connect to 3G network. If 3G network is not available or very weak in your locality, then set it to use 2G network.nnConsn1. Internal storage available is only 1.6GB (not 4GB as mentioned)n2. Not option available to move apps from internal storage to SD :(n3. Headphones are white color :(
