Verdict
Go for the Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E431 (6277-4XQ) if you are looking for a notebook which performs equally well in all aspects, be it business or entertainment. While the Intel Core i5 processor makes it a sound business partner, the 1GB graphics card and Dolby speakers provide high quality entertainment. The absence of any user friendly OS is a big drawback though.

Display and Design
 
The Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E431 (6277-4XQ) flaunts a sharp 14-inch HD LED backlit Anti Glare display with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels that allows you to stare at the screen comfortably without straining your eyes. From the outside, it may look dull and chunky with a thickness of 34mm. However, it has a comparatively lesser weight of 2.13kg.
 
Processor and OS
 
On the inside, it is packed with a mighty 3rd generation Intel Core i5 CPU sprinting at 2.6GHz and based on HM77 Express chipset. It is assisted by a standard 4GB DDR3 RAM which can of course be expanded up to 16GB via 2 DIMM slots for better response.
 
The 1GB Intel HD 4000 GOU handles rich graphics proficiently without much lag. Although the lack of any preloaded OS in a laptop of this price is disappointing, you can overcome it by installing one of your choice.
