Verdict
Bringing together great looks and a good configuration, the S400 also scores on good multimedia support and connectivity. If only Windows had been provided instead of DOS OS, this device would have been perfect. Yet the lack of a good default OS can easily be rectified. Overall, given the powerful specs that this device boasts of, it can be considered an ideal companion for the person seeking an all-rounder with some good additional features.
All-rounder with a difference

Design and Display

The S400 is a moderately light laptop that comes with an elegant silver grey body. For fast and accurate input, Lenovo provides the AccuType keyboard and touchpad. The display is a large 14 inches HD (1366 x 768 pixels resolution) LED, capable of rendering HD videos in stunning clarity. 

Processor and OS

Within the stylish exterior sits a powerful 1.4GHz Intel 2nd Gen Core i3 processor, which uses the 2GB (expandable) RAM provided to deliver crisp performance. Gaming on this laptop is a pleasure thanks to the ATI Seymour XT HD7450 GPU. The default OS of this laptop is DOS. 

Camera Storage Multimedia

Keeping in touch with loved ones will never be a problem thanks to ther 0.3MP webcam that comes with this laptop. All of one's files, be they music, games, videos or important documents, can be easily stored on the 500 GB SATA HDD. If that's not enough, they can always be backup up on optical disks using the integrated DVD-RW drive. Those seeking entertainment will be thrilled by the audio quality delivered by the Dolby Home Theater v2 Advanced Studio that comes with this device.
