Awesome gaming beast...........i have all the latest graphics demanding games working absolutely great on my y500 I got this laptop on my 17th birthday....Its amazing and works comparatively very fast from my Hp Envy ultrabook and my samsung series 5 NP550P5C S04IN you must buy this........if u are a hardcore gamer indeed

I had been chasing around to get a good gaming laptop for months and this one is the highest configuration that i could find without burning a hole in my wallet. The laptop is mostly plastic on the outside. The display is thin and feels light. The outer surface does attract many fingerprints though. The red backlit keyboard gives a real cool look. With i7 processor and 8GB RAM, Windows 8 runs very smooth and programs are responsive. I have played Portal and Mass Effect on High settings and i get very good response. Nothing to complain with 2GB Nvidia GT 650M. The battery life is about average and there are no heating issues. JBL speakers are very good. The Y500 is being called back because lenovo wants to fix known issues in the touchpad. It did not matter much to me since i always use a usb mouse and disable the touchpad. That said, i havent had any problems so far with the touchpad. The unique feature of this laptop is the ultra-bay. Essentially you can remove the DVD drive and put another GT 650M or an extra hard disk in its place. This makes it pretty much future proof. But the games have to support GT 650M in SLI configuration to make use of it. Overall i am very happy with the product and am glad that i made the decision to buy this.

hi .. this product is really awsome .. the specs are mind blowing.. My friend bought it in january and its awesome. But there's a problem ..the old y500 laptops have faulty elan touchpad and the new ones have synaptics touchpad. Snapdeal doesn't confirm here that the stock at snapdeal has synaptics touchpad. Please confirm it.
