I have brought this laptop, but not from Flipkart. While buying the laptop I had a major concern about the Graphic card, I was not able to find much review on the "NVIDIA N14P-GV2" graphic card; but "NVIDIA N14P-GV2" is the code word for the well know "NVIDIA GT 740" graphic card. Body: Good looks & finish, the laptop has a metallic feel; however the frame on the screen is plastic; no idea why it was not given a metallic feel.... USB : There is 1 USB 2.0 & 2 USB 3.0 ports, the USB 3.0 has some issues in Windows 8.1 as it some times recognizes the devices & some times does not; I believe this is a Windows 8 issue, Will update when i find a fix foe this isse :D Noise & Heating: It is a pretty silent machine & no heating issues, however in case of heavy gaming you may hear a mild voice & there is a mild heating at the bottom. TouchPad : The touch pad seems to be uncomfortable, as it does not have the click buttons; however with the use of the laptop you will be comfortable with it. Sound : With JBL dolby speakers, the sound is amazing Speed : The speed is pretty good, I have played "Splitter cell : Black list" it played like a charm.

Z510 IS A VERY GOOD GAMING AS WELL AS AN ALL PURPOSE LAPTOP WHILE Y510P IS A PREMIUM GAMING LAPTOP ONLY. Z510 HAS INTEL CORE I7 QUAD CORE PROCESSOR,WHILE Y510P HAS INTEL CORE I5 DUAL CORE PROCESSOR AT THE SAME RANGE. NOW-A-DAYS GAMES WITH QUAD CORE REQUIRMENTS ARE COMING AND THESE GAMES WILL INCREASE MORE IN THE FUTURE. Z510 HAS 8GB SSHD WHILE ,WHICH MAKES THE LAPTOP BOOT FASTER AND KEEPS ITS OPERATION QUITE STABLE,WHILE Y510P DOES NOT HAVE THAT WITHIN 60K RANGE Z510 HAS 2 GB DDR3 NVIDIA GT740M WITH INTEL INTEGRATED GRAPHICS WHICH IS MORE THAN GOOD FOR ALL TYPES OF HIGH END GAMES. YES HERE Y510P HAS MORE SURROUND SOUND ,MORE BASS COMPARATIVELY AND WHY NOT .IT HAS BEEN MADE FOR HARDCORE GAMERS,BUT U CAN GET THE SAME FEEL IN Z510 WITH YOUR HEADPHONES . BELIEVE ME IT IS NOT AT ALL A DEAL BREAKER.INFACT SPEAKERS WILL BE NEEDED FOR Y510P ALSO, FOR MORE BASS AND LOUD SOUND. Z510 HAS LESSER SCREEN RESOLUTION OF 1366*768 AND Y510P HAS 1920*1080 RESOLUTION WITH FULL HD LED.HERE Y510P IS THE WINNER, BUT U CAN ALWAYS WATCH FULL HD VIDEOS FLAWLESSLY IN UR Z510 ALSO.ALSO Z510 HAS ANTIGLARE HD LED DISPLAY ,WHICH Y510P DOES NOT HAVE.THUS U WILL NEVER FACE ISSUES OF LIGHT REFLECTION IN YOUR Z510 BOTH HAVE BACK-LIT KEYBOARD BOTH HAVE 8GB RAM AND 1 TB HDD BOTH HAVE GOOD TURBO BOOST AND 15.6 INCH SCREEN TOUCHPAD ISSUES ARE SAME FOR BOTH OF THEM Z510 HAS WINDOWS 8.1 INSTALLED WHILE Y510P HAS WINDOWS 8 WHICH YOU MAY UPGRADE IT BUT IT WILL TAKE AROUND 6 TO 7 HOURS. CAMERA QUALITY A BIT BETTER IN Y510P BATTERY LIFE IS SAME FOR BOTH Z510 HAS 4CELL LITHIUM POLYMER BATTERY,WHILE Y510P HAS 6 CELL LITHIUM ION BATTERY WHICH GIVE THE SAME BATTERY BACK UP. CACHE MEMORY IS 6MB FOR Z510 ,WHICH MEANS YOU CAN HAVE MULTITASKING WORK IN YOUR Z510 VERY EASY AND FLAWLESS.WHILE Y510P HAS ONLY 3MB CACHE WHICH MAKES THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MULTITASKING OBVIOUSLY LESSER.THUS Z510 IS THE WINNER HERE. Y510P IS WINNER IN SCREEN DISPLAY (BUT THAT TOO IS NOT ANTI GLARE AND SIDE CHASSIS IS MORE WIDER THAN Z510 ) Y510P IS WINNER IN GRAPHICS OF GT755M WITH GDDR5 WHICH MIGHT HAVE APPROX. 10% TO 13% HIGHER PERFORMANCE THAN GT740M WITH DDR3. ALSO IN Y510P U MAY REMOVE THE OPTICAL DRIVE TO PUT YOUR SLI SYSTEM AND INCREASE YOUR GRAPHICS BUT THAT SLI SYSTEM COSTS AROUND 24K SO IT IS OF NO USE FOR MOST PEOPLE OUT THERE. OVERALL Z510 GIVES YOU MORE FUNCTIONALITIES THAN THE Y510P AND THAT TOO IN THE SAME PRICE RANGE.HENCE I FEEL Z510 IS THE WINNER.
I got this laptop on flipkart on the best price... i have even inquired it from local vendor and distributor the price of laptop was bit Higher from flipkart Pro's - Good build sturdy feel - First you have to decide what kind of laptop you need this laptop has is 2.2Ghz - 7 core processor Meaning it can handle huge application for example you have opened 10 application together all of 10 will work fast with out LAG but on the down side single core is 2.2 Ghz so normal browsing and surfing you might feel slow. So enoff power to take tons of application - Dedicated Shared memory 2GB B/W Nvidia GT740 and Inte 4600 GPU Graphic memory which is nice saves lots of Battery life. - Anti Glare screen is good from any angle . - JBL speakers are too good out of the world excellent quality. - HM 87 mobile Express chip set perfect for Mainstream laptops - Intel 4702 processor which is compatible for almost every new technology plus VTx virtualization supported - Each core voltage is 0.672 meaning you can use this laptop 24X7 with 6MB cache is a big number you might need this in multi tasking, Ram is 1.35 volts so can get in upto 16gb High end gaming Ram in this laptop. - No design fault if you are technical you will understand this is the one you need. Cons.. - Noisy DVD writer - Horrible Touch Pad ( do not function some times ) But i started liking the mouse pad after few days of usage. - Keyboard is horrible if you are some one who type lots of emails then there is no feel with in keypad hate it. - 1366 X 768 Resolution 342 PPI Cant believe i have more PPI in my mobile then this laptop screen, for this price point not good expectations are more. - 1.0 Cam not good for this price point not good expectations are more. - Ram is Samsung 800 Mhz get it replaced with low voltage gaming ram. - Windows 8.1 pre installed OME with Raid 0 Configuration ... i did not like a bit i downgraded it.. and when it is is Raid 0 you have to wipe every thing with power-shell so if you have think you don't want to use windows 8.1 and go with windows 7 please take it to a technician but don't experiment. The Con's i have written you can always get replacement of RAM , Wireless keyboard and for HD Monitor from HDMI but ... big BUT on this product is price point what you are getting in this configuration i don't think other manufacture is selling ... don't think buy it i might feel bad about keypad but its my view. All in All best laptop you can buy and even if the technology grow in near future its future proof and upgradable. Syed Wasim Akram
Have been using this machine for one month now. I am a programmer , so mainly use it for programming . I will touch different points about this machine one by one now. Looks : The laptop looks good, and is very slim and doesn't weighs much, but a tad heavier.The white backlit keyboard is just a beauty . Performance : with eight virtual cores and eight gb of ram , I don't think any one will ever face any performance issues with this thing. I didn't faced any issue till date. The ram is expandable to 16gb and there is no available ram slot. And then also if planning on expanding the ram , you have to get it done from lenovo , otherwise it will violate the warranty. Battery backup : If you are watching movies , or playing games or surfing the net , it is not going to give much backup , I think not more than three hours . With normal usage , like when I am just using it to for programming , it gives about four hours of backup . But don't expect more than four - four and half hours of backup form this machine. Built: This is the concerning point. Priced at 58k , I didn't expected much , but definitely not this. The other day I was cleaning the laptop , and while cleaning around the screen area the frame was easily pressing . Like when I was cleaning the screen and the region surrounding it with a cloth it was bending a little too much. I was concerned if it would break . So that was a let down for me. Memory : One tb is more than enough. The 8 gb ssd is just an icing on the cake . . You can't even see the ssd as a available option to store data. But it is used by system to store start up files and thus making the laptop faster while starting up. Price : I got it from lenovo store . With an additional two years extended warranty. Priced at 58k , this is a one of its kind laptop to offer these features .
I really don't know whom to blame, Lenovo or Flipkart. In a mere span of 6 months, my laptops battery has gone so weak that the computer has started showing me error messages saying " Battery too weak,need to replace battery" Im very careful with my electronic gadgets, I never leave it on an over night charge and never work on it while charging. now I have to carry my charger everywhere as it turns off in 2-3 minutes if not attached to the charger.
