Micromax 42” 4K UHD LED SMART TV (2015 Model)nAfter a month long research for purchasing an advanced LED TV for my home, I was aiming to buy a 2015 model TV. As my wishes come true, Flipkart released Micromax 42” 4K Ultra HD LED SMART TV (2015 Model) on March 13, 2015, 14:00 hrs. I immediately ordered it at 14:15 hrs with a minimal checkup with the Specifications. My greatest joy was, 4K TV @ Rs. 39,990/- is a bang for buck.nn1. Flipkart DeliverynI scheduled the delivery on Sunday, 15th march, 2015 between 16:00 and 18:00 hrs. But the delivery executives were so concerned to take their Sunday evening off. So they delivered me at 10:30 a.m itself. So Flipkart as usual did their ultra fast and professional shipping. The delivery personnels also assisted me to open the package and to check the TV for any damage etc. As Micromax’s package was very good, Everything was found to be in good condition. The delivery personnel left with a note that technicians will be contacting me for installation and demo.nn2. Flipkart Installation servicesnMonday morning @ 10 a.m. I received a call from nearby service center asking me to schedule time for Installation of the TV. I scheduled it on Tuesday. The service technician took 15 minutes to wall mount the TV. He hesitated to demo the TV as he said that the TV was very new to him that he may not know all its features to perform a demo. But it was Okay for me. As I know it will be self-learning and easy. I have also uploaded a video of the wall mounting accessories being fixed to the TV: http://youtu.be/18uihMPGMY8 nnOnce the wall hangers (WHITE) and the spacers (BLACK with COVER Sponges) are attached, the TV can be mounted on the wall bracket as easy as hanging a photo frame to a wall.nn3. TV looksnThe TV looks sleek. Below The micromax logo at the bottom center of the TV, a response light has been designed as a smily curve which blinks in pale cool white while using the remote.nn4. TV specificationsnAll the specifications matched as described. 3 HDMI ports, 3 USB ports (2 USB 2.0 & 1 USB 3.0)nn5. Remote functionsnRemote was so cute and easy to operate/navigate thro’ the menus. The back cover must be completely opened for attaching 2 AAA batteries (provided along the package).nn6. Visual ExperiencenThe video quality was awesome with AIRTEL HD + SET TOP BOX. Notable channels to experience are NAT GEO HD, Colors HD, etc. Also I played 1080p video songs (downloaded form Youtube) through pendrive to check the visual effect.nn7. Audio ExperiencenAudio experience was good. Four Preset audio modes (STANDARD, THEATRE, MUSIC, NEWS) and 1 User mode are provided. I felt Theatre mode was good for movies and it has too much Bass. nSTANDARD mode was good to listen overall. As per instruction, for better audio experience, the TV must be wall mounted.nn8. Voltage StabilizernAs per recommendation by flipkart, I purchased V-Guard Crystal Plus (Rs.2650/-) from a local dealer. It was also sleek and can be wall mounted. nn9. Flipkart Followup & Feed-backnFlipkart customer service was 5 star rated as they were suggesting me about the Voltage stabilizer, and assisting in installation process. Today (18, March) I received a call confirming about the product installation and customer satisfaction.nn10. Satisfaction level – 5 StarnAm sure I would be one among the first five customers who bought this TV. And I am highly satisfied about the product, flipkart and their awesome services. I bought this Tv in April . Let me tell you this product is far from finished nLet me tell you how my experience was , Tv delivered on time by Flipkart, As promised a tech visited my house and wall mounted the Tv as I wanted , sound quality of the Tv is excellent , Picture quality great but not excellent it plays 1080p but you can see some diffrence when compared to a samsung or sony or Lg nAnywYs the tech who visted to mount the tv did not knw anything about the smart tv, now iI'm tech savy so I don't need a demo per say. I Also have a samsung curved 48 inch Led tv , so i know my way around a smart tv. Unfortunately the Micromax smart tv is installed with Android kitkat and has not been programmed enough to match the features of the tv. The software lacks apps , no youtube app to begin with which was big let down, browser on the tv is horrible . But there was an option to download chrome which was also not helpful as it wasnt very user friendly since the cursor on the tv moves at snails pace. I have an apple iphone and ipad which would not mirror with the tv to play videos again a big let down since it needs Android devices only to pair , i really don't understand how this makes it smart. nAfter i complained a tech visted my house and informed that the 48 inch tv come with youtube app and pairs with apple devices but not the 42inch . Nowhere on flipkart does it mention that . The tech promised he would call up the micromax tech support hq and get me a update . The Micromax representative called ghe next day and said he would send a new update for the tv and then all will be fine . The software sent was a corrupt file and would not install what a bummer. The micromax guys gave up and then flipkart called and said we will take the tv back and refund your money. n3 weeks waiting and nobody has picked the tv from my residence however after calling them several time over 3 weeks flipkart refunded my money today. The tv unmounted and packed still waiting

Flipkart as usual best service in terms of delivery and installation, but please do not purchase the product as there is lag between video and audio. Also there is shadowing while you see any HD channel. I have already requested a return from flipkart

The tag aptly fits this product. For 40K you are getting a 4K LED with top notch features. It looks sleek & is very well designed. nnFirstly, very happy with flipkart on time delivery & installation, not much with the demo part of it. When I received a service call from flipkart I did mention that demo was useless, and I needed someone with good tech knowledge to run me thru it - I am still waiting for the call (Its been 2 weeks now).nnHonestly, you cannot ask for more at this price, it takes time for our eyes to get adjusted to this TV, initially everything looks like a handyCam captured video's.. let the LED burn up a little - use it for at least 50Hrs before you judge this product. Yet to try 4K video's on this, but HD@1080p thru HDMI is brilliant (user will need to adjust the picture settings), I use a TATASKY HD, so no trouble with HD Channels so far.nnWifi & browser works fine (Haven't tried using wifi mouse & keyboard yet), however - the browser gets closed at times & reopens, some tech glitch (maybe an software upgrade by Micromax may help).nnA built-in chromecast type wifi based mobile device screen sharing is a good feature. However, the MIRACAST app is only available on android - so if you are an windows user like me, it may not be of much help (not unless u get a google chromecast), however - this feature works well on my tab which is android based. On windows phone even if you try the screen share option, I am unable to connect to the TV.nnSound, considering its competition - this one is by far better in terms of its loudness (in a good sense). Its got built in box facing the floor end, which is a smart move. You can as always plug in a 2.1 for enhanced audio experience. this TV also gives you a customizable audio settings, which means - if you know how to handle KHz.. you can adjust the audio. nnThe plug & play thru flash/pen drive works well, its easy to use media options.nnVerdict: Considering there is a new technology every 6 months, and if you do not want to spend big money but still would like to have an high-end experience - go for this product. But if you are someone who is very keen on killer video & audio, and can go for SONY or similar price tags (a@1.3L +), you will not be pleased with this.

I purchased this TV in the last week of March,2015. But since then, it had an issue with the browser and miracast 'smart' features. Browser crashes every now and then, miracast does not connect at all. Most of the games are not activated and ask for a serial number which was never there or shared with me. Furthermore, I raised a concern just after 2 days and till today nobody from Mmx has come out with a resolution on these issues. Mmx servicemen are also incapable of understanding the full functionality and agree on the issue because of lack of knowledge in the 'SMART' area of TVs.nMy recommendation will be - if you are so much interested in taking a 'smart' TV just like I was, seeing the price, you will be disappointed. If you can wait for few more months may be a year, they may come out with a software upgrade or a new android version to fix these issues, but as of now, no resolution is in place. It's a price / penalty that you have to pay to be 'future ready'.nPls note, nothing in India is in 4k as of now and if you still want to buy this TV go ahead thinking it's just a 42" full HD TV and not a 'SMART' one.nFlipkart was courteous enough to refund the amt.n1 star for Flipkart courtesyn1 star for the Mmx try to step in SMART area.
